Event #4: $15,000 GTD NLH
Day 1 Completed
"alwaysliquid" took down Event #4 of the partypoker US Network Online Series Wednesday night in dramatic fashion, putting an exclamation mark onto their victory by way of a straight flush-versus-nut flush situation en route to the first-place prize of $7,463.
The $215 buyin featured a guaranteed prize pool of $15,000, and 134 runners ensured that number would be blown away. A total prize pool of $26,800 was paid out across the top 15 places, with "alwaysliquid" among the shortest stacks when play made it into the money. Their ascent then began, eventually entering the final table with the chip lead after eliminating "rumpthumper" in 10th place.

1 | alwaysliquid | $7,463 |
2 | BoozeHound | $4,917 |
3 | MyCousinVinny5 | $3,484 |

7 | pay4medsch00l | $1,139 |
8 | David "TheKing411" Coleman | $844 |
9 | Ryan "TheSims" Hohner | $576 |
Ryan "TheSims" Hohner entered the final table as the shortest stack. He quickly found a double, but lost a bit back before losing a coin flip to take ninth place. Recent WPT Online Main Event champion David "TheKing411" Coleman was the next to bow out. Coleman doubled eventual runner-up BoozeHound to be left with under three big blinds, which he lost a couple of hands later.
Moments later, "pay4medsch00l" was eliminated in seventh before "BoozeHound" doubled once more, this time leaving Brian "TopCreature" Sherrier" with two big blinds. Sherrier and "RickRahim" then went out on the same hand by way of a double elimination at the expense of "alwaysliquid."
"spinach_kale" then went out in fourth after their pocket kings saw the pocket nines of "MyCousinVinny5" flop a set to bring about three-handed play, where chips exchanged hands through two doubles before "MyCousinVinny5" was eliminated by "alwaysliquid" in third place.
Heads-up play then began and went back and forth for a bit before reaching the zenith for "alwaysliquid". A single-raised pot saw a ten-seven-six flop hit the board, with all three cards being clubs. The ace- and jack of clubs finished the runout and all of the chips made it into the middle via an overbet shove and a call. When hands were shown, "BoozeHound" had called with the king of clubs for the nut flush, but it proved to be no good as "alwaysliquid" had flopped a straight flush to wrap up the five-and-a-half-hour event in a truly unique and memorable fashion.
In Level 30 with blinds of 30,000/60,000 and an ante of 7,500, "BoozeHound" raised to 150,000 on the button and "alwaysliquid" defended their big blind.
The flop dropped and "alwaysliquid" checked. "BoozeHound" made a continuation-bet of 120,000 and "alwaysliquid" called.
Both players checked the turn and the river fell to bring a flush on board. "alwaysliquid" overbet-jammed for over 1 million and "BoozeHound" quickly called.

The result was the improbable: nut flush versus straight flush. "BoozeHound" called all off all of their remaining chips with the nut flush on an unpaired board, only to see the pot sent to "alwaysliquid" for their flopped straight flush to bring about the end of the tournament.
"BoozeHound" receives a payday of $4,917 for their runner-up finish, while "alwaysliquid" earns the top prize of $7,463. A full recap of the event will be provided shortly.
