Schwippert Takes One Down

Level 35 : 1,500,000/3,500,000, 3,500,000 ante

Jan-Eric Schwippert raised to 8 million with the {9-Clubs}{9-Diamonds} and Dominik Nitsche called on the button with the {9-Spades}{8-Spades}, Diogo Veiga came along from the big blind with {A-Hearts}{Q-Spades}. The flop fell {J-Spades}{5-Hearts}{3-Spades} and Veiga checked, Schwippert checked and Nitsche's bet of 17 million was called by Schwippert only.

Both Germans checked the {10-Diamonds} turn and the {J-Diamonds} river and Nitsche smirked when he got to see the cards of his countryman.

Unlucky Runout Leaves Boivin Short but in Contention

Level 35 : 1,500,000/3,500,000, 3,500,000 ante

Thomas Boivin raised to 7 million with the {K-Hearts}{K-Diamonds} first to act and Diogo Veiga folded the {A-Hearts}{J-Hearts}. Dominik Nitsche came along from the big blind with {J-Clubs}{10-Diamonds} and the flop of {K-Spades}{9-Clubs}{4-Clubs} gave Nitsche a gutshot, he checked and called Boivin's bet of 5 million.

On the {Q-Spades} turn, Chidwick improved to a straight and checked while Boivin bet 12 million. Nitsche just called and the {10-Hearts} river brought a bet of 50 million, which covered Boivin's remaining stack.

Boivin gave it plenty of thought and eventually folded to remain on ten big blinds.

Chidwick Bluffs Boivin Once More

Level 35 : 1,500,000/3,500,000, 3,500,000 ante

In a battle button versus big blind, Thomas Boivin defended the {A-Hearts}{6-Diamonds} against Stephen Chidwick's raise with {Q-Spades}{J-Clubs} and check-called a bet of 10.5 million on the {8-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{3-Clubs} flop. On the {5-Spades} turn, Boivin checked once more and Chidwick made it 30,000 to go, and the Belgian called.

The {K-Spades} river saw Boivin quickly check with 64 million behind and Chidwick bet 66 million to cover his opponent. Boivin folded and Chidwick moved into a clear second spot.

Chidwick Shows his Skills; Lefrancois Gets There

Level 34 : 1,500,000/3,000,000, 3,000,000 ante

Thomas Boivin made it 7 million to go from early position with the {Q-Spades}{J-Spades} and Stephen Chidwick called in the big blind with the {9-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}. On the {9-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{2-Diamonds} flop, Chidwick checked and Boivin bet 14 million, Chidwick didn't go anywhere.

The {7-Hearts} turn brought no betting action while the {K-Hearts} river completed the board. Chidwick checked and Boivin bet 20 million, Chidwick check-raised to 100 million and forced an instant fold.

Soon after the Brit got into a pot with Pascal Lefrancois, holding the {A-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs} in the small blind, while Lefrancois had raised with {K-Spades}{7-Spades} in the cutoff. The {6-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} flop was checked and Chidwick checked the {J-Clubs} turn, Lefrancois bet 15 million and the {K-Clubs} river improved the chip leader.

Chidwick's check was followed by a bet worth 65 million from Lefrancois and again the cards went into the muck evry quickly.

Stephen Chidwick raised to 6.5 million from early position with the {A-Spades}{5-Spades} and Pascal Lefrancois called with the {10-Clubs}{8-Diamonds} in the big blind. After the {J-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{3-Clubs} flop, Lefrancois checked and called a bet worth 6 million.

The {5-Hearts} turn was checked through and Chidwick made trips fives on the {5-Clubs} river. Lefrancois checked and Chidwick bet big for 35 million. Lefrancois used one time bank extension and

Small Pots Only

Level 34 : 1,500,000/3,000,000, 3,000,000 ante

Jan-Eric Schwippert raised to 6.5 million with the {6-Hearts}{6-Clubs} and Diogo Veiga called in the big blind with {10-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}. On a flop of {K-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{2-Spades}, Veiga checked and folded to a bet of 7 million.

Soon after the duo headed to a flop of {Q-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{5-Clubs} flop, Veiga checked with the {Q-Spades}{10-Spades} and Schwippert bet 4.5 million with the {10-Hearts}{8-Hearts}, Veiga called. Both players checked the {K-Clubs} turn and a bet of the Portuguese for 9 million, half the size of the pot, went through uncontested.

One hand later, Schwippert was in a battle of the blinds with Davidi Kitai and bet a flop of {A-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{8-Spades} for 3 million with the {8-Hearts}{7-Clubs}, Kitai called with {Q-Spades}{6-Clubs}. On the {J-Spades} turn, Schwippert bet bigger and Kitai quickly let go.
