End of Day Surge for Carrel

Carrel had as much of an up-and-down day as one could possibly have on Day 3, finding himself near the top of the chip leaderboard at times, but also staving off elimination in a couple of key spots.

One such situation came with 13 players remaining, with Carrel at the feature table. Action folded to Severin Schleser in the small blind, and Carrel three-bet all in , pushing his 25 big blind stack into the middle. Schleser called, and Carrels pocket threes held up against Schlesers ace-king.

Carrel also avoided elimination on the three-table bubble, surviving an all-in against Marek Blasko and spinning his stack up to around 40 big blinds at that point.

Its already been a successful summer for Carrel, who just two weeks ago took down the 50,000 No-Limit 8-Handed event at the Triton Super High Roller series in London, taking home 1,321,000. With a big stack going into the final day, Carrel is looking to add the first place prize of 1,000,000 here at partypoker LIVE MILLIONS Europe.

Partypoker Pros in the Mix

A pair of partypoker pros made deep runs on Day 3. Roberto Romanello ended the day at 41,900,000 in chips, after entering the Day 3 field as an online qualifier. Saturday was Romanello's first day of live play in the tournament, and he stayed in the mix throughout the entire day.

Dzmitry Urbanovich finished 10th for a 60,000, busting out on the unofficial final table bubble in brutal fashion.

Urbanovich was on the wrong end of a massive cooler, dished out by Paleta. Urbanovich ended up calling off the rest of his chips while holding nines full of sevens, but hitting the rail as Paleta turned over pocket sevens for quads.

Rounding out the contingent of partypoker pros in the money was Bertrand Grospellier, who took home 20,000 for a 53rd-place finish.

Big Stack Falls Early

Markus Grewe came into Day 2 with the fourth-largest stack in the tournament, but a tough run of hands in the first two levels of the day ended the Germans tournament run.

Grewes stack took a big hit in the first half hour of play, when Yake Wu doubled up through Grewe by dishing out a full boat versus trips cooler. That hand alone took Grewes stack from north of 20 million down to 11 million.

Just over an hour later, Grewe sacrificed another double up, this time to Romanello. Romanellos pocket kings got the best of Grewes ace-ten offsuit, taking Grewes stack down even further.

A few hands later, Grewe got the worst of it again versus Romanello, bowing out on an ace-queen versus pocket tens matchup.

Looking at the Final Eight

While Grewe's end-of-Day 2 big stack didn't last long through Day 3, Sam Grafton did manage to spin a big stack at the beginning of the day into a final table appearance. Grafton comes back Sunday with 62,400,00 chips and has clinched his fourth six-figure cash of 2019.

Paleta ended up in the final eight after seeing his stack dwindle to six big blinds with 10 players remaining. After two big double ups, Paleta went from the brink of elimination to a championship contender at the final table.

Romanello and Romain Lewis are the only two online qualifiers at the final table, and both are in contention for the championship at a final table with plenty of possibilities, and stacks relatively close to each other.

Day 4 will restart at noon local time Sunday, and play will begin with 27:43 remaining in Level 26, and the blinds at 800000/16000000. The field will play 60-minute levels until a champion is crowned
