An action-packed day of poker, hand-for-hand play that lasted over 60 minutes, and two brothers who have made it through to Day 3 is just part of the Day 2 story from the partypoker LIVE MILLIONS UK 1,100 Open.

An entrants total of 1,009 players over five starting flights created a prize pool worth 1,009,000 and 312 players returned on Day 2 to battle and put themselves within a chance of winning the 180,000 first-place prize.

After ten 50-minute levels took place, 46 were able to survive and return for Day 3 on Tuesday, October, 2 at Noon, with Andrew Haygarth taking the chip lead with 56,325,000. Haygarth, alongside Dean Wilson, who bagged 56,200,000 have a significant lead on the rest of the field with Gordon Huntly (35,550,000), Grant Kinnear (34,700,000), Rory Liffey (34,000,000) and Paul McTaggart (32,875,000) in the following pack.

In an interesting turn of events, two brothers from Austria have been able to progress to Day 3. Daniel Rezaei (31,875,000), who was among the chip leaders throughout the day will be joined by brother Armin, who made a late run to bag a very similar 31,300,000 stack.

Well-known faces Chris Da-Silva (32,700,000), Iaron Lightbourne (23,500,000), Benny Glaser (18,925,000), Andrew Hulme (12,275,000), Jack Sinclair (12,100,000) will also be in action alongside partypoker pros Natalia Breviglieri (6,825,000) and Anatoly Filatov (5,300,000), who will be looking to improve their stacks in the early stages of play.

Action of the day

Play got underway at 3pm local time after the fifth and final starting flight came to its conclusion just an hour before. The 10 am turbo flight gave players their last opportunity to get into Day 2, with 20-minute levels played out instead of the regular 40-minutes that had been played in the previous four flights.

There was a shock early on in the action when Lukasz Grossmann, who came into the day's play in the top five chip counts, departed the tournament shortly before the first break of the day.

The Open went hand-for-hand when 123 players remained, and just four eliminations were needed before the money bubble burst. Tensions were high in the room after over an hour past before Michael O'Sullivan was the final player to depart short of the money. Daniel Stanway, Tomas Fara, and Colin McTaggart departed before O'Sullivan ran ace-queen into the aces of Grant Kinnear. The Irishman paired his queen on the turn but there was no miracle river, and he departed in 120th place.

With the remaining 119 players all guaranteed a min-cash worth 2,700 the exits came thick and fast with Day 1a chip leader Kfir Ivgi and Day 1c chip leader Tsz Him Pun both departing in the first batch of players.

End-of-day chip leader Andrew Haygarth was able to propel himself up the counts during the final hour of play after he called a river raise worth 15m from Daniel Rezaei with pocket jacks on a ten-four-eight-eight-nine board and took the pot with a higher two pair.

Players such as Keith Cummins,Kelly Saxby, Charles Akadiri, Sebastian Pawlak, Matthew Eardley, Sylvia Hewitt, Kenny Hallaert and last year's partypoker LIVE MILLIONS UK Main Event winner Maria Lampropulos all made the money places but were unable to last until the end of the day.

PokerNews will be back will all the Day 3 coverage from Noon on Tuesday, October, 2 so check back in with us then as the field is cut to a final table!
