Pantin Takes it Down Unimproved

Level 56 : 4,000,000/8,000,000, 800,000 ante

The very next hand after the knock-out, Maria Lampropoulou was at it again. She raised from first position to 17M with {Q-Clubs}{X-}, and Jeremy Pantin right behind her came in for a three-bet. Pantin settled on 45M with {A-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds}, and Lampropoulou called.

The {8-Spades}{2-Clubs}{7-Diamonds} flop didn't seem to hit either player as it was checked through, so when the board paired on the {7-Clubs} turn, Pantin took a stab at it with a bet of 40M. That won him the pot as Lampropoulou's unknown hand quickly hit the muck.

A Swift Exit from the Ladies Event

Level 56 : 4,000,000/8,000,000, 800,000 ante

Katie Swift ran so deep in the 6 million guaranteed partypoker MILLIONS Main Event that she would have hoped to repeat her success straight away. It hasn't worked out like that, however.

The pot that did the damage was one that we joined with Swift opening pre-flop to 2,000. Swift got a single caller in Deborah Rawson and the two ladies went heads-up to a flop.

The flop came {9-Clubs}{A-Spades}{J-Hearts} and Swift continued for 1,500, getting call. On the turn {Q-Spades}, Swift bet 6,100 and again got a call. The river {K-Clubs} saw Rawson lead out for 6,300 and that would be almost all of Swift's 6,800 stack at that point, so the Kent-based cafe owner folded. Soon after, she lost her remaining eight big blinds to bust.

Mateusz Rypulak Eliminated in 4th Place (320,000)

Level 56 : 4,000,000/8,000,000, 800,000 ante
Mateusz Rypulak

Jacob Mulhern raised to 16M with the {A-Diamonds}{2-Spades} and Maria Lampropulos called with the {Q-Hearts}{10-Hearts} on the button, Mateusz Rypulak defended the big blind with {8-Spades}{7-Spades}. On the {10-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{5-Hearts} flop, the action checked to Lampropulos and her bet was for 26M.

Rypulak gave it some consideration and then check-raised all in for 124M with second pair. Mulhern folded and Lampropulos asked for the count before making the call.

"Come on Jacob," the rail said, knowing that Rypulak was the only player that stood between Mulhern and an extra payday of 100,000 for their favorite.

The {10-Spades} on the turn left Rypulak drawing dead, making the {5-Diamonds} river a formality. Rypulak had to settle for a payday of 320,000 while the final trio has 450,000 guaranteed.

Lampropulos's Tens Hits the Muck: Mulhern Takes the Lead

Level 56 : 4,000,000/8,000,000, 800,000 ante

In the first hand after the break, Jacob Mulhern completed from the small blind with {Q-Clubs}{6-Clubs} and made the call when Maria Lampropulos in the big blind made it 20M to go with {10-Diamonds}{10-Spades}.

The players checked through the {6-Spades}{Q-Hearts}{A-Hearts} flop before Mulhern fired 23M on the {3-Hearts} turn. Lampropulos called but gave it up to Mulhern's bet of 34M on the {J-Clubs} river.

Mulhern has now passed the 400 million mark and overtaken the chip lead.

The latter pair were involved in a big pot when, with a pot of 36,000 already in the middle, it was Swales who had moved all-in for 24,000 with the board showing {6-Spades}{8-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{J-Hearts}. Swales got a fold from Sung Hee Yun and stacked up over 61,000 with the average at 45,000.

Rypulak Shoves the River

Level 55 : 3,000,000/6,000,000, 600,000 ante

Maria Lampropoulou made it 13.5M from the button with {J-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} and Mateusz Rypulak defended his big blind with {K-Clubs}{4-Clubs}. Rypulak hit the {3-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{K-Spades} flop the hardest of the two, but it was Lampropoulou who made the betting. The Argentinian bet 14M and Rypulak made the call.

The {K-Diamonds} turn gave Rypulak the confidence to take initiative, and he came out firing 21M. Lampropoulou had picked up a flush draw and made the call.

On the {10-Clubs} river Rypulak put his remaining chips in the middle, got the fold and raked in the chips.

Pantin Gives Up on the River

Level 55 : 3,000,000/6,000,000, 600,000 ante

Mateusz Rypulak made it 12M with the {Q-Spades}{10-Clubs} and Maria Lampropoulou three-bet to 32M with {9-Clubs}{2-Diamonds} to claim the pot without further resistance.

Jacob Mulhern raised to 16M on the button with {K-Spades}{9-Clubs} and Jeremy Pantin called in the big blind with {A-Spades}{8-Hearts}. The duo checked the board {J-Hearts}{10-Spades}{9-Spades}{2-Clubs}{2-Spades} board and Mulhern scooped the pot, his rail cheered.

Rypulak limped from the small blind with {5-Hearts}{4-Diamonds} and Mulhern raised the {Q-Clubs}{10-Diamonds} in the big blind to rake in another pot.

Pantin made it 14M to go with {K-Diamonds}{6-Clubs} and Mulhern called in the small blind with {8-Hearts}{7-Hearts}, Lampropoulou tossed in the extra chips in the big blind with {A-Hearts}{5-Clubs}. The flop of {A-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}{2-Diamonds} saw two checks and a continuation bet of 18M by Pantin, which only Lampropoulou called.

After the {4-Diamonds} turn, Lampropoulou checked again her top pair and Pantin bet 37M. Lampropoulou called and the {9-Clubs} appeared on the turn, which Pantin checked behind.

Pantin Picks Up Kings: Extends His Lead

Level 55 : 3,000,000/6,000,000, 600,000 ante

The action folded around to Jeremy Pantin on the button, and he made it 14M to go with {K-Diamonds}{K-Spades}. Jacob Mulhern had picked up {8-Hearts}{7-Hearts} in the big blind and made the call.

The {7-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{Q-Spades} flop gave Mulhern second pair, and he check-called the 15M bet from his opponent. The {K-Clubs} hit on the turn making Pantin top set, and Mulhern wisely got out of the way after facing a second barrel of 37M.
