"King D" Gets a Double

Level 11 : 800/1,600, 1,600 ante

Gary Loeffler was on the button and saw action folded to him. He opened to 4,200 and was three-bet to 14,800 by Rich Alsup, who was in the small blind. Loeffler four-bet all in for 21,200 and Alsup threw in the remaining 6,400 required to call.

Gary Loeffler: {k-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}
Rich Alsup: {6-Spades}{6-Clubs}

The board ran out {7-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}{a-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}, with Alsup hitting a six on the river to give him a set.

"Flush," said Loeffler, who is known locally as "King D" at the tables, immediately after the river hit. He was right, as the river also improved him to a flush to beat Alsup's set of sixes, resulting in a double and a new stack of chips with which to play.
