Chilaud Check-Raises

Level 10 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Picking up the action after the flop, Maxime Chilaud in middle position was involved in a hand with a player in the small blind as well as a player in late position. With the board reading {a-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{a-Clubs} the small blind checked as did Chilaud. The late position player led out for 3,000 and was called by the small blind player. Chilaud responded by check-raising to 11,000, a move that did not dissuade either of his opponents, both of whom made the call to keep action three-handed heading to the turn.

All three players checked through the {4-Clubs} turn to the {q-Spades} river at which point the small blind player checked for a third time. Chilaud considered for a moment before following suit and the late position player quickly tapped the table to bring the action to a close. The small blind turned over {a-Hearts}{8-Diamonds} for flopped trips, a hand sufficiently strong to best both of his opponents and take down a sizable pot. Chilaud, meanwhile, suffered a small hit to his still large stack.
