Time to Rise and Shine
"You can just call me the apple farmer from Germany," Douglas Roberts joked in the break after reporting about three decent runouts in a row over on the feature table.
In the first hand he raised with pocket nines and flopped top set. The continuation bet was called and a second five on the turn gave him a full house. Only one opponent called the second barrel and did so again on a blank river, getting shown the full house.
The second hand was equally sweet with ace-king in the big blind and flat-calling a raise. On a king-high flop, Roberts check-called a continuation bet to do so again after an ace appeared on the turn. The second ace on the board gave him a full house and the bet of the American was not called, yet he still showed.
Last but not least, the lucky charm, jack-ten suited, found a jack on the flop and a ten on the turn. A possible flush on the river saw a bet of 6,100 by the opponent of Roberts and he called to receive a muck in return before showing his cards.
While Roberts' trend continues to rise and shine, Artur Koren's stack dwindled all the way down to just 13,000 at the very same table.
