Liz Lieu Gets an Early Start
It’s early on Day 2B at the ISPT and players are still taking their seats and un-bagging their chips ready for a long day of tournament poker.
At table 22 is Liz Lieu and it looks as if she’s ready to push the action.
Liz has won over $825,000 in live play. Her biggest win to date was taking $168,590 for 5th place in a 36th Annual World Series of Poker no-limit hold 'em event. She also played herself in the Hong Kong movie Poker King.
An early hand saw Liz involved in some blind on blind action with her in the small blind and a recreational player in the big blind.
With the board at the river reading Liz bet a tempting 600.
Her opponent reluctantly threw in the chips to call and, with a smile, Liz threw her cards in the muck. Her opponent went to do the same, but reminded he needed to show to claim the pot, he turned over
“Bad river.” He said.
“Good river. Good river for you. If I hit my card then it would have been a bad river.”
Not too much damage done. Liz's stack is currently just below 51,000
