Don't Call it a Comeback

Level 12 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

Lance Dorsey entered the day with just 22,000 chips. He now has nearly 80,000.

Dorsey doubled for a second time moments ago, getting his last 37,000 in the middle with {k-Diamonds}{k-Hearts} against Mark Fledderman's {a-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}. Dorsey was admittedly nervous, but made quads when the board came {8-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}{k-Spades}{q-Clubs}.

Fledderman is not enjoying his time on Day 2. He entered the day as the chip leader, but has since plummeted to 75,000.

Radanov Finds a Double

Level 12 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

Radanov: {k-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}
Kingston: {9-Spades}{9-Hearts}

Radanov took the lead on a flop of {6-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{q-Clubs}, and remained ahead as the turn and river bricked off {10-Spades}, {6-Spades} respectively. Radanov doubled to around 60,000, while Kingston dipped to 44,000.

Belken's Aggression Gets the Best of Him

Level 12 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

Three players took a flop of {4-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}; Michael Belken, Chris Moneymaker, and Todd Metheny. Belken checked, Moneymaker tossed out 6,100, and Metheny folded. Belken quickly called.

The turn was the {5-Diamonds}, and the second the card hit the felt, Belken announced he was all in.

Frustrated, Moneymaker dropped all of the chips in his hand. His eyes sunk low as he the wheels inside his head churned away, and eventually he called the 45,000-chip bet.

Belken: {9-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}
Moneymaker: {a-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}

"I need an eight or a nine," Belken said, standing.

The {j-Clubs} on the river was neither, and Belken was eliminated.

Bartlett Busts Bliven

Level 12 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

Jason Bliven was all in and at risk holding {6-Hearts}{4-Hearts} on a flop of {5-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}, and Todd Bartlett had him at risk with {8-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}.

"Eight!" Bartlett yelled out. "Eight!"

Bartlett was ahead and didn't need an eight to win a hand, he simply needed to dodge a six, four, or running straight or flush outs.

The turn and river bricked {q-Spades}, {k-Clubs} respectively, and Bliven was eliminated. Confused, Bartlett was getting ready to ship some chips over to his opponent.

"Oh!" Bartlett exclaimed. "I thought you had {5-Hearts}{4-Hearts}!"

He happily raked in the pot he thought he had lost, while Bliven hit the rail.

Dorsey Doubles

Level 12 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

A very short-stacked Lance Dorsey was all in and at risk for 20,000 or so holding {k-Spades}{j-Diamonds}, and he was racing against Chris Moneymaker's {8-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}.

Moneymaker flopped a set of eights on a board of {8-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{q-Spades}, but Dorsey turned Broadway with the {a-Spades}. A meaningless {9-Clubs} completed the board, and Dorsey doubled.

Chris Moneymaker
Chris Moneymaker

Day 2 of the Hollywood Poker Open St. Louis Regional Championship is set to kick off in a few minutes, and leading the remaining 15 players is Mark Fledderman. Fledderman bagged 163,900 after a very strong last level, but he will have some tough competition en route to the final table.

Among the top stacks is tour ambassador and Team PokerStars Pro Chris Moneymaker, who finished Day 1 with 114,100. The 2003 World Series of Poker Main Event champion had a very swingy last level, where he dipped as low as 50,000, but fought back and bagged a big stack.

Seven-time WSOP Circuit ring winner Kyle Cartwright is among the 15 remaining players, bagging the 10th-largest stack; 66,200. Cartwright doubled with pocket queens against Matthew Kingston's pocket fives during one of the final levels.
