Action is set to get underway with players looking for big bounties. H-58: $10,300 Thursday Thriller [Bounty] gets going at 2 p.m. eastern time and they'll play till a winner is decided today. There's $1.25 million guaranteed, which means they need 125 entries before the prize pool starts growing.
The progressive bounty format puts $5,000 of the entry price into the prize pool and $5,000 onto the player's head. When a player is eliminated, 50% of their bounty is handed out in cash to the winning player, while the other 50% is added to their bounty value. That 50% starts at $2,500, but by the end of the tournament can be massive.
Action proceeds today with 20 minute blind levels starting at 400/800 with an ante of 120. That means players start with 125 big blinds to work with, but with $5,000 on everyone's head (at least!) expect the chips to be flying around freely in early action.
Registration is open for more than four hours today, and players can rebuy as many times as they like during that period. When the gates come down on registration at 6:45 p.m. eastern in Level 13, the final field will be set.
PokerNews will be on the virtual floor all day following the action, bringing you big hands and chip counts through the day. Stay tuned to find out who takes down the big bounties and the win in H-58: $10,300 Thursday Thriller [Bounty].
