During the first hand of the new level, Joao Vieira raised to 138,000 in the cutoff and Joni Jouhkimainen three-bet to 462,000 in the small blind. Andras Nemeth activated his time bank in the big blind to then four-bet jam for more than 1.3 million. Vieira quickly folded, Jouhkimainen did so after some consideration.
Vieira and Elio Fox then claimed the blinds and antes. Sami Kelopuro also got through with two jams and Jouhkimainen a few chips before the remaining nine players headed into the first break with 14 hands left in the level.
