Day 1a of the �1,100 PokerStars Eureka Hamburg Main Event has just concluded here at Casino Schenefeld, Hamburg, with 40 players finding a bag for Day 2 from the 166 entries.

Kent Roed of Norway emerged as the chip leader, amassing an impressive stack of 279,500. Roed was closely followed by Frenchman Gregory Kehren (269,500) and Andrzej Powalka (252,000) of Poland.

Nine PokerStars qualifiers have progressed, including Mike Schmidt and Henrik Veldhoen, while PokerStars Team Pro Felix Schneiders will be jumping in the Main Event on Day 1b.

Players such as Halil Coknez, Simone Demasi and Marcin Puczylowski all fired yesterday but failed to make the cut, and will no doubt try their luck at one of the remaining flights.
