Roumeliotis Down to 11,000 - Start of Epic Comeback

Level 23 : 15,000/30,000, 4,000 ante
Alexander Roumeliotis
Alexander Roumeliotis

Alexander Roumeliotis opened to 60,000, and Jason Mercier shoved from the button for 587,000. Both blinds folded, Roumeliotis made the call.

Roumeliotis: {A-Spades}{K-Spades}
Mercier: {Q-Spades}{Q-Hearts}

The {Q-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{7-Diamonds} on the flop was good for Mercier, and he was guaranteed to double with the {A-Clubs} on the turn. Alexander Roumeliotis made two pair with the {K-Clubs}, but it still wasn't enough.

While Mercier doubled, Roumeliotis was down to just 15,000 - 4,000 of which he needed to invest as his ante. He was blind all in from the big blind the next hand, and doubled with {K-Diamonds}{7-Clubs} through Ihar Soika's {A-Spades}{2-Diamonds}.

The next hand he got even richer. Soika opened to 60,000, and Dmitry Yurasov made the call. Marc-Andre Ladouceur on the button squeezed to 195,000 and Roumeliotis called all in for 57,000 from the small blind. Soika four bet to 427,000, and Yurasov and Ladouceur both folded.

Soika showed {A-Clubs}{K-Diamonds} and Roumeliotis said "Yes! I don't think this could've gone any better for me" while showing {Q-Spades}{10-Hearts}.

The {10-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{6-Clubs}{9-Diamonds} on the board was good for Roumeliotis, and he got his 57,000 stack back times four, plus a big blind and some antes.

"I'm back!" - Roumeliotis laughed.

Chidwick Picks Off Vieira's Bluff

Level 23 : 15,000/30,000, 4,000 ante

From the cutoff seat, Joao Vieira opened with a raise to 60,000. Stephen Chidwick called from the big blind, and the flop was {Q-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}. After Chidwick checked, Vieira bet 72,000. Chidwick called.

The turn was the {9-Spades}, and Chidwick checked again. Vieira fired a bigger 118,000, and Chidwick called once more.

The river completed the board with the {K-Clubs}, and Chidwick passed the action to his opponent again. Vieira took his time, then bet 222,000. Chidwick studied long and hard, and then tossed in the call.

Vieira tabled two diamonds for a failed bluff, and Chidwick's {9-Hearts}{7-Clubs} for two pair was the winning hand.

Four-Way Pot for Vieira

Level 23 : 15,000/30,000, 4,000 ante

After Dario Sammartino had opened preflop from early position and received calls from Stephen Chidwick in middle position, Maxim Panyak in the small blind, and Joao Vieira in the big blind, the dealer spread the {10-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{5-Clubs} flop.

Panyak checked, as did Vieira, and then Sammartino bet 68,000. Chidwick flat-called, Panyak folded, and then Vieira took his time before putting in a check-raise to 253,000. Sammartino and Chidwick folded, and Vieira won the pot.

Level 22 : 12,000/24,000, 4,000 ante
Marc-Andre Ladouceur
Marc-Andre Ladouceur

From early position, Ihar Soika raised to 50,000. Action then folded to Marc-Andre Ladouceur in the small blind, and he reraised all in for 502,000. After the big blind folded, Soika called with the {A-Spades}{K-Clubs}. Ladouceur had the {J-Diamonds}{J-Spades} and it was off to the races for these two.

Ladouceur's tournament life was on the line, but thanks to a {9-Spades}{7-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{10-Spades} board he was able to double up.

Ladouceur moved back over one million, while Soika was knocked back under two million.

Barer and Erkenov Play Zillion-Chip Pot

Level 22 : 12,000/24,000, 4,000 ante
Ami Barer - Ismail Erkenov
Ami Barer - Ismail Erkenov

Ami Barer opened the button to 48,000, and Dylan Linde quickly folded his small blind. Ismail Erkenov in the big blind made the call though, and they were off to see a flop: {3-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{6-Spades}.

Erkenov checked to Barer and the Canadian made a 60,000 continuation bet. Erkenov called.

So far, nothing really special, but on the turn things got heated. The {5-Spades} made Erkenov check again, and Barer continued his aggression with a 144,000 bet. Erkenov answered with a check raise to 350,000. Barer made the call.

The {2-Clubs} completed the board, and Erkenov wasn't backing down. He grabbed a bunch of 25,000 chips, counted them, and slid them forward in one big tower worth 575,000.

Barer had a tough decision, and at some times looked physically in pain by it. Minutes past with Barer in the tank, but eventually he took 100,000 worth of 25,000 chips, and slammed them across the line to indicate the call.

"Nice hand" said Erkenov after he showed {K-Spades}{10-Hearts} for nothing much of anything. Barer showed {A-Diamonds}{A-Spades} and took down one of the biggest pots of the tournament.

Sergi Reixach Lloveras Eliminated in 16th Place (€42,000)

Level 22 : 12,000/24,000, 4,000 ante

Sergi Reixach Lloveras open pushed his last chips and right next to him Alexander Roumeliotis made the call. All other players quickly folded, and the cards were on their backs again.

Sergi Reixach Lloveras: {9-Spades}{7-Spades}
Alexander Roumeliotis: {A-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}

The {Q-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds}{A-Spades} heavily favored Roumeliotis, but the {2-Spades} on the turn gave Lloveras some outs. The {4-Hearts} wasn't one of the cards he needed to hit, and Lloveras left the stage.

The remaining 15 players are guaranteed €46,600 now.
