Konnikova's Superior Two Pair Topples Lasouski

Three players went to the A?K?4? flop, and Davidi Kitai checked from the big blind to Artsiom Lasouski who fired 1,800 from under the gun. Maria Konnikova was on the button and put in a raise to 6,000, forcing Kitai out of the pot and Lasouski made the call.

The J? fell on the turn and Lasouski checked to Konnikova as she continued for 15,000. Lasouski only took a couple of seconds before jamming for roughly 17,000 and Konnikova snap-called.

Lasouski turned two pair but Konnikova had flopped aces up and the 2? river changed nothing, sending him to the rail.

A three-way all in pot played out between Cristian Alvarez, Nicola Spallanzani, and Juan Bastida with two of the players sharing the same hand.

It was a dream scenario for Alvarez, who only needed to win a flip to almost triple up. Spallanzani had the biggest stack, but it seemed unlikely that he could scoop the pot unless the board brought some surprises.

A flop of 3?6?J? was safe for Alvarez, but Bastida did pick up the nut flush draw. An A? on the turn sunk Alvarez as he was drawing to just one out, but left Bastida delighted as he was freerolling for the main pot. Bastida spiked his flush on the 6? river and thumped the table in celebration, as Alvarez was sent to the rail.

Badr Douch raised from under the gun and Cameron Couch three-bet to 9,500 from the small blind. Will Kassouf called in the big blind and Douch called.

The flop came 9?10?Q? and Couch checked. Kassouf fired out a large bet of 21,000, around half of his stack, and Badr Douch moved all in for 45,000. Couch moved all in over the top for 61,500.

"There's no f*cking way I'm folding this," said Kassouf as he pushed the rest of his chips in the middle and players flipped their cards.

Douch had two pair, Kassouf a set, but Couch had flopped the world with the nut straight and flush redraw. Kassouf shouted out for a queen or ten, his outs for a full house, but the turn was the J? and river the 3?.

"So sick, wow!", said Kassouf.

Couch held with his straight to win the pot, nearly tripling his stack and eliminating both Douch and Kassouf from the tournament.

Angel Insua raised to 1,200 from early position and got a call from Jordan Cutter in the hijack before Simon Wiciak three-bet 4,000 on the button. Insua and Cutter both called.

The three players saw a flop of 5?K?4? which was checked to Wiciak, who then bet 1,500. Insua called and despite the cheap price, Cutter folded.

An A? fell on the turn which saw Insua check-call a bet of 3,000 from Wiciak.

When the J? landed on the river, Insua checked for a third time in the hand, and Wiciak shoved for 8,300. Insua thought for a few moments before he made the call.

Wiciak showed A?J? for a rivered two pair, and Insua showed A?Q? for a pair of aces.

When the 3? hit the turn, Navarro continued for 8,000. Beirigo eyed Navarro's remaining stack for a moment and made the call.

The 8? completed the board on the river and Navarro didn't slow down, jamming for 16,900. Beirigo went into the tank for about a minute before mucking.
