It's official. After its return in 2023 following a 12-year hiatus, PokerStars has confirmed that The Big Game on Tour is back again this year, with more episodes to be filmed at the NAPT Las Vegas festival.

Ten episodes of the show were filmed last year, with the likes of Phil Hellmuth, Maria Ho, Lex Veldhuis and Sam Grafton all taking part. The show features a lucky Loose Cannon who receives $50,000 and has to survive 150 hands playing $50/$100 with a table of poker pros, ambassadors, and celebrities.

PokerNews spoke with Big Game on Tour judge and commentator James Hartigan ahead of the show's return, and he says he's thrilled the show is back.

Welcome to the single-day 5,200 8-Game here at PokerStars European Poker Tour Barcelona at the beautiful Casino Barcelona. This event is making its debut here at the EPT Barcelona stop after successful editions at other locations. Cards will be in the air at 12:30 p.m. local time.

The 1,100 version of this event was won by Marc Liz Mora on Thursday. He is likely to join other European mixed game regulars such as Dzmitry Urbanovich and Benny Glaser.

This event features 30-minute levels and a winner is expected to be crowned by day's end. The players will begin the day with 50,000 in tournament chips and blinds will start at 300/600 with an ante of 100 with limits at 600/1200.

Registration remains open through the first ten levels of play until approximately 7:25 p.m. This is also an unlimited re-entry event.

Eight-game mix is always an interesting event because it combines the traditional limit-mixed games with a couple of big-bet games. The result of this is an intriguing mixture of playing styles and strategies based upon which game is being played: No-Limit Holdem; Seven Card Stud; Omaha Hi-Lo 8 or Better, Razz; Pot-Limit Omaha; Limit Holdem; Seven Card Stud Hi-Lo 8 or Better; or 2-7 Lowball Triple Draw.

Stay tuned to PokerNews as we provide coverage throughout the entirety of today's event and all other events here at EPT Barcelona.
