Joao Mestre

Welcome back to the PokerStars European Poker Tour Prague here at the Hlton Prague, where players will soon be gathering for Day 2 of the 5,300 Main Event. Joao Mestre is the current chip leader after bagging up 359,000 on Day 1a. Not too far behind him is Bulgarian poker pro Yulian Bogdanov, who will bring 315,000 with him into Day 2.

Other notables still in and looking to make a deep run include Dario Sammartino (236,000), Jason Wheeler (206,000), Niklas Astedt (193,000), and Tamas Adamszki (157,500), who will be looking to add to an already stellar year in Prague after taking down both the 50,000 Super High Roller and 10,200 No-Limit Holdem events in the past week.

Thus far, there have been 1,250 entrants between Day 1a and Day 1b. Of those, 428 will return for Day 2. The current record (set during last year's Main Event) for the number of entrants stands at 1,267. Late registration will remain open until the start of play, so a new record-setting field is well within reach.

Day 2 is set to begin at noon local time on level 11, which features 1,000/1,500 blinds with a 1,500 big blind ante. Levels will be lengthened to 90 minutes each and players will get a 20-minute break after each level with one 30-minute break after Level 14. Play will continue on Day 2 for at least five levels or when the money bubble has burst (whichever takes longer).

Be sure to stick with PokerNews as we bring you the action from the tournament floor for Day 2 of the Main Event. Additional coverage can also be viewed on the PokerStars YouTube Channel.
