Another day and another high-stakes tournament at the 2023 PokerStars European Poker Tour Paris is being held at the Hyatt Regency Paris Etoile in the French capital of Paris. On tap for today is the second version of the 25,000 No-Limit Hold'em High Roller single-day tournament, just hours after the first one wrapped up at nearly 3:30 a.m.
It was Chris Brewer who overcame a field of 44 entries to take home the title and the first-place prize of 357,180. Brewer outlasted Brazilian Felipe Ketzer in an epic heads-up battle that lasted into the wee hours of the night. Other players that finished inside the top six and took home some money included Daniel Dvoress, Nick Petrangelo, Ren Lin, and Orpen Kisacikoglu.
These players along with many of the other usual suspects are expected to return to the felt for another high-stakes battle with plenty of euros up for grabs. This is all just a lead-up to the 50,000 EPT Super High Roller that will be getting underway tomorrow in the larget buy-in event of the festival.
The structure will be the same as yesterday with the cards going in the air at 12:30 p.m. local time and a starting stack being worth 100,000 chips. For all of those players seated at the start of play, they will be reimbursed 50% of the registration fee. The blinds will begin at 500/1,000 with a 1,000 big blind ante and the levels will be 30 minutes in length.
Late registration will remain open for 10 levels with a single reentry option available throughout that period. However, based on the players' requests, the dinner break has been moved to after Level 13, therefore the late registration period will be closed at approximately 6:00 p.m. The shot clock will be in play from the start with each player receiving four time banks plus an additional time bank after every two levels.
The PokerNews live reporting team will be back on the tournament floor to bring you all of the live updates as the action unfolds en route to crowning another champion later tonight.
