Brewer Pulls Further Ahead

Level 19 : Blinds 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante
Chris Brewer
Chris Brewer

Daniel Dvoress raised from under the gun and was called only by Chris Brewer on the button. The {10-Clubs}{9-Spades}{3-Clubs} flop brought a bet of 120,000 by Dvoress and Brewer tossed in calling chips.

Fast forward to the {4-Clubs} turn, Dvoress opted to check. Brewer now bet 250,000 and Dvoress invested one time bank extension, checked his cards once more before folding.

Brewer jammed with his chip lead shortly thereafter to steal the blinds and big blind ante before all five finalists headed into a scheduled 10-minute break.

No Gamble; No Future; No Fortune for Lin

Level 19 : Blinds 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante
Daniel Dvoress
Daniel Dvoress

Chris Brewer opened to 60,000 and Ren Lin called from one seat over on the button. Daniel Dvoress then pushed all-in for 435,000 out of the big blind, which forced out Brewer.

Some 15 seconds later, Ren Lin glanced at his sticker and exclaimed "no gamble, no future" before planking in a stack of T-25,000 chips for the call.

Dvoress showed the {j-Hearts}{j-Diamonds} and Lin declared "I dominated you" before exposing his {3-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}.

"One, two, three ..." Lin announced and the {j-Spades}{6-Hearts}{2-Clubs} flop brought laughter around the table including by Lin, who now asked for a four. The {10-Diamonds} turn locked up the double for Dvoress, which made the {3-Spades} river for an inferior set of Lin all the worse.

Petrangelo Chips Back Up

Level 19 : Blinds 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante

The raise by Nick Petrangelo was called by Felipe Ketzer and both players opted to check the {8-Spades}{7-Spades}{7-Diamonds} flop. Ketzer bet the {3-Diamonds} turn for 160,000 and Petrangelo called.

That led them to the {9-Diamonds} river on which Ketzer gave it some consideration and checked. Petrangelo used one time bank extension before betting 325,000 with very few chips behind, earning a snap fold by Ketzer.

Lin and Brewer Apply Pressure

Level 19 : Blinds 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante
Ren Lin
Ren Lin

Before the blinds went up, Ren Lin opened to 60,000 and Daniel Dvoress called in the big blind. The {k-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{2-Diamonds} flop was checked by Dvoress and he quickly folded to a bet worth 60,000.

Lin then opened to 70,000 in the new level to claim the blinds and antes.

Chris Brewer limped the small blind next and Lin checked to the {8-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{3-Diamonds} flop on which Brewer check-folded instantly when facing a bet of 60,000.

Lin opened to 70,000 thereafter and Felipe Ketzer moved all-in, started packing his belongings. The preflop raiser wished him a good night already and even vaulted out of his seat to shake hands with Ketzer. However, with a smile on the face, Lin folded the {j-Hearts}{2-Hearts} and Ketzer let him pick one of the cards, as the {8-Clubs} was revealed.

Brewer opened to 60,000 from under the gun next and Petrangelo three-bet to 210,000. The four-bet shove by Brewer followed and Petrangelo sent the cards into the muck.

Another Flop Bet Win for Brewer

Level 18 : Blinds 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante

Chris Brewer raised to 50,000 and Felipe Ketzer three-bet to 355,000 on the button for more than half of his shorter stack. It folded back to Brewer, who tossed the cards into the muck.

Daniel Dvoress then lost a small pot with one street of action versus Nick Petrangelo when the latter's {q-Hearts}{j-Spades} were the best hand on the {q-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{2-Spades}{5-Clubs}{7-Clubs} board.

Petrangelo's next limp out of the small blind was knuckled back by Brewer in the big blind. The {k-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{6-Diamonds} flop brought very little action, as Petrangelo check-folded to a bet of 50,000.

Lin Doubles Through Ketzer and Takes the Lead

Level 18 : Blinds 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante
Ren Lin
Ren Lin

Felipe Ketzer raised it up to 55,000 from under the gun and was called by Nick Petrangelo on the button. Ren Lin also came along in the big blind as well.

The {10-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{3-Clubs} flop was checked to Ketzer, who bet 30,000 and Petrangelo called. Lin then check-jammed for 515,000 and Ketzer asked for a count before then moving all-in.

Petrangelo sighed visibly and sent the cards into the muck, then whispered a few words to Daniel Dvoress after the cards were revealed.

Ren Lin: {5-Spades}{3-Spades}
Felipe Ketzer: {10-Clubs}{7-Clubs}

Ketzer's Brazilian rail drew closer to the table to see the showdown unfold. Their favourite was behind with top pair and a flush draw, and couldn't catch up on the {8-Hearts} turn. The {3-Diamonds} river only improved Lin, who exclaimed "touchdown Tom Brady, what the hell!"

Brewer Takes Small Pot Off Petrangelo

Level 18 : Blinds 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante

In a limped battle of the blinds to the {a-Spades}{a-Diamonds}{9-Hearts} flop, Daniel Dvoress and Nick Petrangelo invested 25,000 each. The {6-Diamonds} turn saw Dvoress bet 70,000 and Petrangelo folded.

One hand later, Petrangelo limped his small blind and Chris Brewer made it 85,000 to go from the big blind, which Petrangelo called. The {10-Spades}{4-Hearts}{2-Spades} flop was checked by Petrangelo, who then folded to a bet worth 50,000.

Orpen Kisacikoglu Eliminated in 6th Place (72,400)

Level 18 : Blinds 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante
Orpen Kisacikoglu
Orpen Kisacikoglu

Nick Petrangelo raised to 55,000 in the hijack and Orpen Kisacikoglu as the shortest stack by a small margin then announced all-in out of the small blind. Petrangelo instantly called and announced pocket kings before gently rolling the {k-Hearts}{k-Spades} over on the felt.

"I can't beat that," Kisacikoglu replied and tossed his {9-Spades}{9-Diamonds} towards the middle of the table.

The {k-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} flop instantly left Kisacikoglu drawing dead as Petrangelo hit quads, which made the {4-Hearts} turn and {9-Clubs} river runout a formality. He takes home 72,400 for the efforts and the final five are one step closer to a six-figure payday.
