Faria Finds Huge Double
Ben Heath opened the action with a raise to 6,000 from middle position. Marius Kudzmanas flat-called from the hijack before Luis Faria pumped it up to 29,000 from the button. Heath got out of the way, but Kudzamans stuck around and made the call.
The flop fell 9?9?Q? and Kudzmanas checked to Faria. Faria then continued for 14,000, which Kudzmanas raised to 37,000. Faria thought about it for a bit before he ended up making the call.
The 10? turn was checked by both players and the A? river graced the felt. Kudzmanas used one time bank chip before he announced his all-in, covering Faria's stack of 86,000. Faria made sure he heard Kudzmanas correctly before he quickly called.
Kudzmanas could not show more than a pair of eights with 8?8?. Faria, on the other hand, was sitting on a monster with his Q?Q? for a flopped full house. He slow-played it to perfection, getting paid the absolute maximum in the end.
Day 1 chip leader Kudzmanas handed in a lot of chips from his big stack but still has over 45 blinds to play with here on Day 2.
