Alexis Savvides and Ilia Shmelev had already built a pot of around 15,000 heading to the turn on a board of 8?2?6?K?. Shmelev then bet 14,000 from the big blind and Savvides called on the button.
The river came the 5? and Shmelev slowed down and checked. Savvides then moved all in for 27,000, sending Shmelev deep into the tank for several minutes.
Conor Beresford, who had only just registered and taken his seat at this table while the hand was in progress, asked if he was allowed to call the clock as Shmelev continued to tank. He eventually folded and Savvides dragged in the pot.
