Murthy Makes the Wrong Call
Action was three ways to the turn on a board showing A?9?J?7? with Robin Ylitalo checking from the big blind. Wouter Beltz followed with a check from under the gun and Neel Murthy tapped the table on the button to see the A? river.
With 340,000 in the pot, Ylitalo and Beltz checked one last time. Murthy fired 175,000 and Ylitalo used a time bank before betting enough to put both opponents all in.
Beltz got out of the way and the decision was on Murthy. Two time banks later, the call was made and the hands were revealed.
Neel Murthy: 7?7?
Robin Ylitalo: A?J?
Murthy called off for his tournament life with a set of sevens, but it was second best to Ylitalo's full house. Murthy was eliminated while Ylitalo took down a massive pot of more than 1,400,000 chips.
