Erkan Soenmez Eliminated in 6th Place (167,050)

Level 32 : 100,000/200,000, 200,000 ante
Erkan Soenmez
Erkan Soenmez

Marcelo Simoes raised to 400,000 from under the gun and then called the big blind shove by Erkan Soenmez for 850,000 total.

Erkan Soenmez: {a-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}
Marcelo Simoes: {5-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}

The {q-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{3-Spades} flop gave Simoes two pair while Soenmez had a gutshot. There was some sweat on the {a-Hearts} turn but the inconsequential {j-Hearts} river ended the run of Soenmez in 6th place for a payday of 167,050.

Trofimov Doubles Through Simoes

Level 32 : 100,000/200,000, 200,000 ante

Dragos Trofimov had to forfeit his big blind against a small blind shove by Hugo Pingray and then jammed the last few blinds with the {a-Hearts}{3-Hearts}. Marcelo Simoes glanced down on {9-Hearts}{6-Hearts} in the big blind and the Brazilian folded.

Jaime Cervantes then let go of the {a-Spades}{4-Spades} and Trofimov shipped it in from the button for 1,325,000 and was called by Simoes in the small blind.

Dragos Trofimov: {k-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}
Marcelo Simoes: {a-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}

The {8-Spades}{7-Spades}{7-Diamonds} flop changed nothing yet but the {k-Hearts} turn and {10-Spades} river both improved Trofimov to score the double.

Six Remain on the Dinner Break

Level 31 : 80,000/160,000, 160,000 ante

Morten Hvam made it 375,000 to go with the {a-Spades}{k-Diamonds} in the cutoff and Erkan Soenmez sigh-folded the {3-Hearts}{3-Diamonds} in the small blind. Hugo Pingray had an apparent decision to make with the {q-Spades}{4-Clubs} in the big blind and he indeed three-bet to 1,100,000.

"How much do you have?" Hvam inquired before he stuck around in the last hand of the level. The {j-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} flop was checked by Pingray and Hvam checked it back to see the {7-Clubs} on the turn. Hvam also checked and the {9-Hearts} river brought no action either as Hvam dragged in the pot.

The 60-minute dinner break then kicked off and the level duration will be cut to 60 minutes for the two levels thereafter.

More and More Chips for Simoes

Level 31 : 80,000/160,000, 160,000 ante

In a limped battle button versus big blind, Hugo Pingray with the {k-Spades}{9-Hearts} and Marcelo Simoes with the {6-Clubs}{2-Diamonds} checked to the {4-Clubs}{4-Spades}{3-Hearts}{a-Spades}{6-Spades} river. Pingray check-called 175,000 and was shown the bad news.

Simoes then picked up the {a-Clubs}{k-Diamonds} on the button and made it 340,000 to go. Jaime Cervantes in the big blind inquired about the stack size of short stack Erkan Soenmez from one seat over and folded the {7-Hearts}{3-Hearts} in the big blind.

In the cutoff, Simoes opened to 350,000 with the {9-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}. Cervantes let go of the {6-Clubs}{5-Clubs} and Erkan Soenmez had no call with the {j-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} in the big blind either.

It's Almost All About Simoes

Level 31 : 80,000/160,000, 160,000 ante

Hugo Pingray made it 325,000 to go in the cutoff with the {a-Hearts}{j-Clubs} and he received a call by Morten Hvam in the big blind, who held the {a-Clubs}{5-Clubs}. The {k-Spades}{j-Spades}{3-Spades} flop was checked by Hvam, Pingray bet 200,000 and that ended the hand right there.

Marcelo Simoes then raised the {5-Clubs}{3-Spades} on the button for 325,000 to scoop the blinds and big blind ante.

Dragos Trofimov then raised for all but the last 325,000 with {k-Hearts}{9-Hearts} to keep his short stack afloat.

Up next, Simoes opened the {5-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} to 325,000 for Pingray to defend {5-Spades}{4-Spades}. The flop fell {a-Hearts}{k-Hearts}{6-Diamonds} and Pingray checked, Simoes bet 200,000 and earned the next pot without any further resistance.

Trofimov then had to forfeit his big blind and big blind ante versus Pingray's small blind push as the limited action continued.

No Value For Simoes

Level 31 : 80,000/160,000, 160,000 ante

Hugo Pingray elected to limp the button with the {j-Diamonds}{10-Spades} and Marcelo Simoes checked with the {7-Clubs}{4-Hearts}. The {q-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{6-Diamonds} flop was check-called by Simoes for 175,000 and the {5-Diamonds} turn was checked. Simoes bet the {4-Spades} river for 720,000 into 910,000 and Pingray folded instantly.
