Amiri Extends Lead

Level 29 : Blinds 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante

Ehsan Amiri opened to 275,000 as the first player to act and Laszlo Molnar flat-called on the button.

Amiri checked on the flop of {5-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{2-Hearts} and Molnar checked back. Amiri then led out for 300,000 on the {8-Diamonds} turn and Molnar called.

The river brought the {2-Spades} and Amiri bet a small 200,000. Molnar made the call, only to muck when Amiri showed {a-Hearts}{8-Clubs} for eights and deuces.

Amiri Rebuilding

Level 28 : Blinds 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante

After Laszlo Molnar raised under the gun to 160,000 and Rui Ferreira three-bet to 400,000, Ehsan Amiri cold-called on the button.

Molnar folded and the other two saw the flop heads-up.

It came {3-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{k-Clubs} and Ferreira bet 200,000. That was met with a raise to 600,000 by Amiri, and Ferreira quickly folded.

Not long after that, after calling Kyriakos Papadopoulos' early position open to 160,000 in the cutoff, he bet 275,000 after Kyriakos checked to him on a {3-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{q-Clubs} board, getting a fold from his opponent.

With the wins, Amiri is now back over the nine million chip mark.

Level 28 : Blinds 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante
Damian Salas
Damian Salas

Action folded to Damian Salas in middle position and he put on his sunglasses before open-jamming a stack of 470,000. Ehsan Amiri peeled his cards from the big blind and made the call.

Damian Salas: {q-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}
Ehsan Amiri: {a-Spades}{10-Hearts}

Salas couldn't improve to stay alive as the board ran out {2-Hearts}{7-Spades}{8-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{4-Spades} to send the 2020 WSOP Main Event champion to the rail. Salas, whose poker accolades include EPT Online and SCOOP championships, takes home 115,780 for his deep run.

Schillhabel Calls With Queen-High

Level 28 : Blinds 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante
Stefan Schillhabel
Stefan Schillhabel

Ehsan Amiri opened to 160,000 on the button and Stefan Schillhabel defended out of the big blind.

Schillhabel checked on the flop of {5-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{k-Hearts} and Amiri bet 100,000. Schillhabel called. Schillhabel checked again on the {9-Spades} turn and Amiri checked back.

The river brought the {a-Clubs} and Schillhabel checked a third time. Amiri took a moment and bet 275,000. Schillhabel gave it some thought and called.

Like a previous hand, Amiri mucked in defeat without showing, while Schillhabel showed {q-Clubs}{j-Spades} for just queen-high to go with the pair of nines on the board as he scooped the pot.

Amiri's Chip Lead Shrinks More

Level 28 : Blinds 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante
Ehsan Amiri
Ehsan Amiri

The Ehsan Amiri show appears to be on a brief hiatus as he's lost a few recent pots that have seen him drop almost a quarter of his stack.

In a limped blind versus blind pot, on the {8-Spades}{a-Spades}{9-Clubs} flop, Amiri checked his small blind, while Daewoong Song checked the big.

On the {q-Spades} turn however, Amiri began firing, putting out a bet of 100,000, which Song called.

The river brought the {4-Diamonds} and Amiri now tossed out a bet of 325,000, which Song also called.

Amiri instantly mucked his hand and the chips were pushed to his neighbor as his stack slid below 8,000,000 for the first time in a while.

Salas Gets a Small Double

Level 28 : Blinds 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante

Ehsan Amiri opened to 175,000 in early position and Damian Salas three-bet jammed a stack of 235,000 from the button. Amiri called for just a little more.

"Can't fold, huh?" laughed Salas.

Damian Salas: {a-Clubs}{10-Hearts}
Ehsan Amiri: {8-Clubs}{6-Clubs}

The flop came {q-Clubs}{j-Clubs}{9-Clubs} to give Amiri a flush, but the {k-Clubs} on the turn then gave Salas the nut flush before the {4-Diamonds} on the river bricked off to earn him the double through the chip leader.
