Shornikau Finds a Double

Level 25 : Blinds 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante

Benjamin Lebor {j-Clubs}{5-Clubs} opened to 90,000 in the cutoff. Maksim Shornikau {q-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} moved all in for 320,000 on the button. In the small blind, Petar Kalev {a-Diamonds}{k-Clubs} also moved all in for 2,145,000. Lebor folded after saving some face, and the other two were off to a runout.

"Very live," said Shornikau.

The flop came best for Shornikau in the {10-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{3-Spades}, giving him top pair and the best hand. The turn {2-Hearts} kept him in the lead, needing to dodge only one more card. The river was the safe {9-Diamonds}, and Shornikau secured the double.
