Mateos Hits a Rough Patch in the Blinds

Level 7 : Blinds 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante

Alex Kulev limped in from the small blind and Adrian Mateos raised to 8,000 in the big blind. Kulev responded with a re-raise to 32,000 and Mateos called.

The dealer fanned the flop of {j-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} and Kulev counted out a bet of 40,000 which got Mateos to quickly fold.

On the next hand, Mateos raised to 9,000 from the small blind and Philip Sternheimer three-bet to 28,500 in the big blind. Mateos called and the flop of {3-Spades}{2-Spades}{2-Diamonds} was spread across the felt.

Mateos checked to Sternheimer who bet 18,000 and Mateos called. The turn was the {6-Spades} and Mateos checked again. Sternheimer put together a bet of 40,000 and Mateos snap-folded.
