Rona Turns Five Spades

Level 2 : 100/100, 100 ante

There was around 5,000 already in the middle on a flop of {a-Spades}{10-Spades}{6-Clubs} and Jean Souprayenmestry had a bet of 1,800 in front of him from the small blind. Action was on Gergely Rona, who was on the button and in the process of tossing out chips to call.

"Heads up," said the dealer, bringing the turn {2-Spades}. Both players checked.

The river was {k-Diamonds} and Souprayenmestry put out a bet of 3,000. Rona thought for a while and then put out a raise to 8,000, putting Souprayenmestry into the tank. After close to two minutes, he made the call.

Rona tabled {q-Spades}{9-Spades} for a flush, earning him the pot as Souprayenmestry sent his cards to the muck. Somebody guessed Souprayenmestry's hand afterwards and he stated he had {a-}{k-Spades}, meaning his top two pair with the nut-flush blocker was no good to Rona's turned flush.
