Arends Scoops a Monster Before Break

Level 18 : 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante

Mustafa Jukovic limped in from under the gun and Jans Arends raised to 100,000 in the small blind. Jukovic called and they went heads-up to the flop of {6-Spades}{4-Spades}{2-Hearts}. Arends checked to Jukovic who bet 51,000 and Arends called.

The turn was the {j-Spades} and Arends tapped the table again. Jukovic quickly bet another 101,000 and Arends stuck around to see the {a-Diamonds} on the river. Arends checked for the third time and Jukovic splashed in a bet of 175,000. Arends called and turned over {a-Spades}{a-Clubs}. He asked to see Jukovic's hand which was {10-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} for complete air, putting Jukovic on the shortest stack.

The remaining eight players are heading on another 15-minute break.

"The Short Stack Always Wins" - Wolff Gets Another Double

Level 18 : 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante
George Wolff
George Wolff

George Wolff ripped in his last 251,000 on the button and Matthias Eibinger announced a call after he received a count.

George Wolff: {q-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}
Matthias Eibinger: {a-Diamonds}{7-Spades}

"The short stack always wins," said Danny Tang to the theme of the final table thus far. The flop came {3-Hearts}{q-Hearts}{7-Diamonds} to comply, putting Wolff out in front. The turn came {8-Hearts} to give him two pair, well good against the pair of jacks that Eibinger hit after the river came {j-Spades} to score him another double.

"Guys, can we please stop doubling everyone up? Please, please, I'm serious!" joked Sam Grafton after the hand. For the time being, eight-handed play continues.

Level 18 : 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante

Sam Grafton opened to 65,000 and Mustafa Jukovic jammed all in for 256,000 on his left. The action folded back to Grafton who quickly called.

Mustafa Jukovic: {a-Spades}{k-Clubs}

The tournament looked poised to finally lose another player but the flop of {5-Clubs}{3-Spades}{2-Diamonds} gave Jukovic a straight draw. The {4-Clubs} on the turn gave Jukovic a straight and the {9-Hearts} on the river confirmed his double up.

Wolff's Turn To Double

Level 18 : 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante

George Wolff went all in for 183,000 under the gun and action folded around to Steve O'Dwyer, who was in the big blind. O'Dwyer confirmed the amount, thought for a handful of seconds, and then made the call.

George Wolff: {k-Clubs}{7-Clubs}
Steve O'Dwyer: {a-Spades}{8-Diamonds}

O'Dwyer called correctly and was out in front to leave Wolff needing some help to stay alive. The flop {6-Spades}{10-Spades}{k-Diamonds} gave him that help and the turn {9-Spades} and river {4-Clubs} came clean to score him the double.

Jukovic Takes It on the River

Level 17 : 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante

Mustafa Jukovic saw action folded to him in the small blind and opened to 55,000. Danny Tang was in the big blind and defended to see the flop come {j-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{9-Hearts}. Both players checked.

The turn came {a-Spades} and Jukovic bet 31,000. Tang thought for a couple of seconds and then called. The river fell {7-Diamonds} and Jukovic bet another 60,000.

Tang looked to Jukovic and asked him to move his arms to see his stack. Jukovic leaned back, exposing his chips for Tang to see, and Tang took a quick look before looking up to study Jukovic. He then thought about his decision until there was under 10 seconds left on his clock before tossing his cards to the muck.
