Fontaine Puts the Pressure on Martini
Julien Martini raised to 650,000 from under the gun and Claudio Di Giacomo called on the button. Jean-René Fontaine three-bet to 2,725,000 from the big blind, Martini called, and Di Giacomo folded.
The flop was and without a moment's hesitation, Fontaine took a sizable stack of chips and put it forward, worth 3,500,000. Martini came along with a relatively quick call.
On the turn, Fontaine wasted no time and snap-shoved all in for 7,225,000. Martini appeared to have a big hand for the situation and went deep in the tank. He tried to chat it up in French with his opponent, but the brush quickly put a stop to that.
After about two minutes, Martini flicked his hand in the muck with a sullen look on his face. He begged Fontaine to show but his countryman refused to comply and, agonizingly slow, slid the two cards face-down in the muck.
