Spaniards Still in Contention in 10,300 EPT Barcelona High Roller
With 10,300 EPT Barcelona High Roller set to resume play at midday, there are still two Spaniards who will be trying to use any home-field advantage as they look to strengthen their position on Day 2 of the event.
Adrian Mateos sits just above average in chips with 142,000, while compatriot Sergio Aido has comparatively less with 55,500. However, all is not lost for Aido who sits third on the Spanish all-time money list. Registration closes at the start of Day 2, with presumably a number of players joining the event and receiving a fresh stack of 50,000 chips.
For Mateos meanwhile, he will have his sights set on another deep run after a 2018 full of deep runs in major tournaments. From Rozvadov to Monte Carlo, Marrakech to Vegas Mateos has performed consistently at all buy-in levels and the self-confessed Master Studier will be looking for ways to gain an edge on his opponents.
Leading the way after Day 1 is David Peters, who is the only player over 300,000. Other big stacks include Joao Vieira (278,500), Chi Zhang (246,500), Vincent Robert (244,000), Matthew Moss (240,500) and Filipe Oliveira (239,000).
Another ten levels of play are scheduled for today, so stay tuned to PokerNew.com for all the action as the High Roller gets back underway.
