Stuer Jams a Few Times

Level 20 : 40,000/80,000, 10,000 ante

Three-handed play saw Julian Stuer start with around 1.1 million and he shoved a few times to build his stack slightly. This included two three-bet shoves into the min-raise of Isaac Haxton and forced folds both times.

Then, Adrian Mateos limped in from the small blind and Haxton checked in the big blind. On the {A-Spades}{J-Diamonds}{10-Clubs} flop, both players checked. Mateos bet the {4-Spades} turn for 125,000 and Haxton called before then facing a bet worth 275,000 by Mateos on the {J-Hearts} river. Haxton elected to fold and dropped a few chips.

"If You Guys Want to Give Something Up..."

Level 19 : 30,000/60,000, 10,000 ante

As soon as it was three-handed, Mateos and Stuer seemed interested in a deal. Haxton quickly said "I'm not doing ICM with the chip lead."

Haxton continued "But if you guys want to give something up, we can take a look"

Mateos and Stuer nodded and asked the tournament director to stop the clock. The three of them are now looking over the numbers.

Ramin Hajiyev Eliminated in 4th Place (200,300)

Level 19 : 30,000/60,000, 10,000 ante
Ramin Hajiyev
Ramin Hajiyev

After battling his way back to more than 1.3 million chips, Julian Stuer raised to 140,000 as first to act. Ramin Hajiyev in the small blind had just about that stack as well and announced all in. Isaac Haxton in the big blind asked for a count and the stack of Hajiyev was deemed to be for 1,340,000. Haxton called and Stuer quickly folded.

Ramin Hajiyev: {8-Spades}{8-Diamonds}
Isaac Haxton: {A-Spades}{K-Hearts}

The {10-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{4-Hearts} flop and the {6-Spades} turn were safe for Hajiyev, but the {K-Spades} on the river gave Haxton kings and fours to send the third-place finisher of this very event in 2015 to the rail in fourth place. Hajiyev takes home 200,300 for his efforts.

Cold Four-Bet Shove

Level 19 : 30,000/60,000, 10,000 ante

Julian Stuer was first to act and raised to 140,000. His neighbor Adrian Mateos on the button three-bet to 400,000. Ramin Hajiyev folded his small blind but Isaac Haxton shoved for 2,435,000. Stuer folded right away and Mateos, while heavily sighing, asked for a count.

The dealer counted out 2,435,000 and Mateos sighed some more. He eventually, reluctantly, folded.

Mateos: "Good Hand?"

Haxton shook his head while stacking his chips.

Mateos: "Two three off?"
Haxton: "Better than that. I am happy with the fold."

Mateos Takes the Lead

Level 18 : 25,000/50,000, 5,000 ante

Julian Stuer lost one smaller hand against Ramin Hajiyev and then gave up another against the check-raise of Isaax Haxton on a queen-high flop.

The last hand of the level provided some fireworks when Adrian Mateos opened to 110,000 and Stuer then three-bet to 405,000 in the big blind. Mateos called and the flop fell {J-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{4-Spades}. Stuer continued for 275,000 and Mateos called. Both then checked through the {4-Diamonds} turn and the {8-Spades} river.

Stuer flipped over {A-Clubs}{K-Diamonds} for a pair of fours and ace-high, while Mateos claimed the pot and the chip lead with four left, holding {7-Clubs}{5-Clubs} for fives and fours.

[Removed:17] Eliminated in 5th Place (158,610)

Level 18 : 25,000/50,000, 5,000 ante

Hand 1

Adrian Mateos raised to 125,000 from the small blind and [Removed:17] called in the big blind. On the {J-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{2-Spades} flop, Mateos continued for 125,000 and Yan called before the Spaniard fired a second barrel worth 285,000 on the {A-Spades} turn. Again Yan called and the {9-Diamonds} river completed the board.

Mateos moved all in and Yan quickly called, then saw the bad news. Mateos had {K-Spades}{6-Spades} for the nut flush and Yan the {Q-Spades}{3-Spades} for the second nut flush. Mateos doubled for 745,000 and Yan was left with just 80,000.

Hand 2

Julian Stuer raised to 115,000 from the cutoff and Yan called all in for 75,000 from the small blind.

[Removed:17]: {7-Diamonds}{6-Spades}
Julian Stuer: {K-Spades}{5-Spades}

"That's okay," Yan said, happy to have two live cards. The flop fell {A-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{3-Spades}. On the {10-Clubs} turn, Yan picked up a gutshot. However, the comeback was not meant to be, as the {7-Spades} river gave Stuer the nut flush and Yan a fifth place finish for 158,610. The remaining four players are guaranteed 200,300, which ensures the biggest cash to date for Stuer already.
