Kitai Can Breathe Again, Kinda

Davidi Kitai

Down to his last 6,000 in chips, Davidi Kitai was forced into the big blind. He put out his ante of 1,000 then posted the big blind with his remaining 5,000. After the deal, action folded around to Pablo Melogno Cabrera in the cutoff seat, and he raised to 18,000. Scott Seiver called on the button, and Roman Emelyanov called from the small blind.

The flop came down {Q-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{2-Hearts}, and Emelyanov checked. Cabrera bet 16,000, Seiver folded, and Emelyanov folded. That gave Cabrera the side pot before he and Kitai contested for the main pot.

Not having looked at his cards yet, Kitai sweated his hand. Barera had turned over the {J-Clubs}{6-Hearts} for just jack high, and then Kitai turned over the {Q-Diamonds}{8-Hearts} for top pair.

The turn was the {3-Spades}, and the river was the {5-Diamonds} to give Kitai the pot and another breath of air.
