Pablo Melogno Eliminated in 9th Place (113,500)

Level 22 : 12,000/24,000, 3,000 ante
Pablo Melogno - 9th Place
Pablo Melogno - 9th Place

Jeremy Ausmus raised to 50,000 under the gun, and Andrey Andreev (cutoff), Steve O'Dwyer (button), Dan Smith (small blind), and Pablo Melogno (big blind) called. The rare five-way flop came down {j-Spades}{a-Spades}{k-Diamonds}, and action checked through. The {2-Diamonds} turn prompted 150,000 from Smith, and Pablo Melogno called off his remaining 59,000. Ausmus called, and everyone else folded. Smith checked the {10-Spades} river, and Ausmus bet 150,000. Smith folded.

Ausmus showed {a-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds} for Broadway, and Melogno showed he had the winner on the turn: {k-Spades}{2-Hearts}. The river got him though, and the final eight players are taking a break after the final table photos.

Andreev Continues to Build

Level 22 : 12,000/24,000, 3,000 ante

Dario Sammartino raised to 50,000 from the cutoff and Andrey Andreev called from the small blind. Steve O'Dwyer came along from the big blind, and three players took a flop of {3-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}. Two checks saw Sammartino continue for 75,000, only Andreev called, and then both players checked the {8-Hearts} turn.

When the {8-Clubs} completed the board on the river, Andreev quickly dropped out 300,000 and Sammartino called. Andreev tabled the {3-Diamonds}{3-Hearts} for a full house, and Sammartino shook his head, showed just the {10-Spades}, and mucked.

Altergott Doubles Through Melogno

Level 22 : 12,000/24,000, 3,000 ante

Max Altergott opened for 45,000 under the gun, and Pablo Melogno three-bet to 117,000 in the hijack. Altergott called, and both players checked the {10-Spades}{8-Hearts}{q-Diamonds} flop. Altergott bet 125,000 on the {5-Diamonds} turn, and Melogno called. He then moved all in for 355,000 on the {3-Spades} river, and Melogno tanked a few minutes and called.

Altergott showed {q-Spades}{q-Clubs}, and Melogno slid his cards to the muck. Dan Smith pointed out the hand had to be tabled: {a-Diamonds}{k-Spades}.

Andreev vs. O'Dwyer

Level 21 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

Andrey Andreev opened for 50,000 from the button and Steve O'Dwyer called from the small blind. Both players checked the {j-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{j-Clubs} flop, and the Andreev called a bet of 75,000 from O'Dwyer on the {9-Diamonds} turn.

When the {J-Diamonds} completed the board on the river, both players returned to checking and O'Dwyer announced, "King high."

It was no good though as Andreev tabled {a-}{5-} for ace high and the win.

Sammartino Thinks He Missed Some Value

Level 21 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

Dario Sammartino opened to 46,000 on the button and got called by both blinds. He bet 55,000 on the {a-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{6-Spades} flop, and both Max Altergott and Andrey Andreev called. Action checked to him again on the {5-Diamonds}, and he bet 136,000. Only Andreev called this time. On the {4-Diamonds} river, Sammartino fired 175,000 when checked to, and Andreev insta-called.

Sammartino slapped {a-Clubs}{10-Clubs} down and took the pot with top two but didn't seem pleased with himself afterwards.

"Big bet," he muttered in frustration, clearly thinking he should have gotten more value out of his big hand.

Martin Jacobson Eliminated in 10th Place (96,300)

Level 21 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante
Martin Jacobson
Martin Jacobson

Martin Jacobson opened on the button for 40,000, and Steve O'Dwyer shipped it for about 300,000 in the big blind. Jacobson called.

Jacobson: {a-Spades}{7-Hearts}
O'Dwyer: {a-Clubs}{2-Spades}

O'Dwyer was dominated, but he found the deuce he needed on the {k-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{10-Spades} flop. The {5-Diamonds} and then {a-Diamonds} kept him best with two pair.

A couple of hands later, it was O'Dwyer's turn on the button, and he moved all in over the under-the-gun shove of Jacobson, who was down to a little over 200,000.

O'Dwyer: {10-Diamonds}{10-Spades}
Jacobson: {k-Hearts}{k-Clubs}

More bad luck for the Main Event champ as {10-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{a-Diamonds} pulled O'Dwyer ahead with a set. The {j-Diamonds} opened up some additional equity for Jacobson with a straight draw, but the {8-Spades} missed him on the river.

Players are combining for the unofficial final table.

Dominik Nitsche - 11th Place
Dominik Nitsche - 11th Place

Charlie Carrel opened for 45,000 under the gun and was met by an all-in three-bet to right around 475,000 by Dominik Nitsche on the button. The blinds both folded and Carrel snap-called.

Carrel: {q-Hearts}{q-Clubs}
Nitsche: {7-Diamonds}{7-Spades}

"Oh no," Nitsche let slip. Indeed, he was in a bad spot. He received neither help nor a sweat as the board ran out a clean {k-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{a-Spades}{3-Clubs}.

Smith Doubles Through Andreev

Level 21 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

Dan Smith is healthy in both body and chip stack now.

Andrey Andreev opened the button to 50,000, and Smith defended his big blind. The flop came {j-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}, and Smith checked. Andreev said he was all in, and Smith snap-called for 387,000 with {q-Clubs}{j-Spades}. He had Andreev outkicked as the the Russian held {j-Hearts}{9-Clubs}, and the {3-Hearts}{2-Clubs} runout was a good one for Smith.
