Carrel, He, Sternheimer, and Kurganov Bust
It's that level, that level where somehow a lot of players dust off their stacks.
The first player to bust was Chang He. On a board of , he bet out, and his neighbor Stephen Chidwick moved all in. He called with the , but rolled his eyes when Chidwick tabled the . The completed the board, and He was eliminated.
Philip Sternheimer was next to go. He got his chips in with the before the flop and was up against Mike McDonald's . The board ran out , and Sternheimer made his exit.
Then, Igor Kurganov, who had admittedly been fairly active, opened to 5,500 from the cutoff seat, and Martin Jacobson defended from the big blind. The flop came rainbow, and Jacobson checked. Kurganov bet 7,100, and Jacobson check-raised to 20,000. Kurganov moved all of his small denomination chips forward, making it 36,600. Jacobson moved him all in, and Kurganov called for 111,000 total. Kurganov was the proud owner of , and Jacobson was trailing with his , but a on the turn and on the river changed all of that. Kurganov hit the rail, but bought right back in to give it another try.
Charlie Carrel was also eliminated, but his elimination has gone unknown.
