Ka Kwan Lau Loses a Big One

Level 30 : 50,000/100,000, 10,000 ante

Ka Kwan Lau opened the cutoff to 200,000 and called as Georgios Sotiropoulos made it 495,000 from the small blind.

It would prove an expensive hobby to mingle with Sotiropoulos this hand as he would fire three bullets. Sotiropoulos bet 325,000 on {J-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}, 645,000 on the {A-Diamonds} and 1,080,000 on the {A-Hearts} river.

Ka Kwan Lau was calling all the way with his {Q-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}, that we knew. In the live stream we just saw that Sotiropoulos had the {K-Diamonds}, his other card wasn't revealed yet. Eventually Lau made the call on the river but his hand wasn't good. Sotiropoulos had {A-Spades}{K-Diamonds} for runner runner trips and beat

Ole Schemion Eliminated in 5th Place (218,300)

Level 30 : 50,000/100,000, 10,000 ante
Ole Schemion
Ole Schemion

Julian Track has, we're told, got the flu and he just put a sick beat on Ole Schemion to send the German tumbling out in fifth.

Preflop Georgios Sotiropoulos made it 200,000 to go with {K-Spades}{9-Clubs}, Track then three-bet to 540,000 with {7-Diamonds}{7-Hearts} and Ole Schemion responded by moving all in for 3,382,500 with pocket tens. After getting a count Track called to put Schemion at risk.

The {2-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{2-Spades}{7-Spades}{9-Hearts} board meant Track turned a two outer to eliminate the very dangerous Schemion in fifth. As a result Track has a stack of 17,272,500 and a lead of more than 12 million chips from his closest challenger. Indeed he now has 57% of the chips in play.

Chidwick Folds the River

Level 30 : 50,000/100,000, 10,000 ante

Georgios Sotiropoulos opened the cutoff to 200,000 and Stephen Chidwick defended his big blind. The {Q-Hearts}{8-Spades}{4-Hearts} flop spelled troubles for Chidwick as his {Q-Diamonds}{9-Hearts} was behind against Sotiropoulos his {K-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}. Chidwick had no way of knowing his top pair wasn't any good and check called a 195,000 continuation bet. The turn brought the {7-Spades} into play and Chidwick check called another 445,000.

The river was the {10-Clubs} and Chidwick checked for the third time in a row. Sotiropoulos bet out 795,000 but that was too much for Chidwick who folded after some consideration.

Chip Counts

Level 30 : 50,000/100,000, 10,000 ante

Due to the technical difficulties the live stream missed an hour of action. During that period there was some chip movement. Right now the live stream is on a roughly 40 minute delay

Max Silver Eliminated in 6th Place (160,200)

Max Silver & Stephen Chidwick hug it out after elimination

Things weren't going all that well for Max Silver in the last level. He didn't catch a break, couldn't hit any flops. He just open shoved his last 1,580,000 and got a reshove from Stephen Chidwick behind him. The other players folded and a big clash between the two men from the United Kingdom was a reality. Though Silver needed to hit with his {A-Spades}{10-Hearts} against Chidwick's {7-Spades}{7-Clubs}, he was smiling like he was ok with the situation either way.

After the {10-Spades}{4-Clubs}{8-Spades} flop things were looking pretty good for Silver. The {4-Diamonds} on the turn wasn't reason for concern either but the {7-Hearts} was. The rollercoaster of emotions ended with disappointment, though Silver was still not acting all that upset. He gave Chidwick a hug and exited the stage.
