Ricardo Iba?ez Eliminated in 5th Place (115,000)

Ricardo Iba?ez - 5th place
Ricardo Iba?ez - 5th place

A flurry of action in our first hand as Ricardo Iba?ez moved all in over the top of an Andrei Stoenescu raise and was snap-called by the Romanian.

Andrei Stoenescu: {Q-Spades}{Q-Hearts}
Ricardo Iba?ez: {A-Spades}{2-Diamonds}

The chance of a first ever Spanish winner was virtually gone after the {Q-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{J-Clubs} flop and Iba?ez was out after the {7-Diamonds} turn and {6-Diamonds} river.

MacIntyre Check-Raises Twice, Stretches Lead

Level 28 : 30,000/60,000, 10,000 ante
Fraser MacIntyre

A big pot just now, one that must have taken ten minutes to play out.

It began with Bruno Lopes raising under the gun, and he found calls from both Ricardo Iba?ez and Fraser MacIntyre. They were in the small and big blinds, respectively. The dealer spread out a {9-Clubs} {2-Spades} {6-Spades} flop, and Lopes continued out with 150,000. That folded Iba?ez quickly, but MacIntyre clicked in a check-raise to 300,000. Not to be outdone, Lopes raised it right back to 675,000 total, and MacIntyre called the remainder to see the next card.

It was the board-pairing {6-Diamonds}. When MacIntyre checked to him again, Lopes fired out another 620,000. But he was check-raised again. MacIntyre shoved all in, and Lopes was put to a decision for the ~1.9 million he had left in front of him.

Lopes needed several long minutes to think it over, and he looked quite uncomfortable as he shifted in his chair and ran through the hand in his head. After some time, he asked MacIntyre if a fold would coax a show. The Scot initially declined, but after about 30 seconds he reconsidered. He mentioned that they'd been having a good time, and he offered to show one card if Lopes folded.

"You won't show both?" Lopes asked?

"I'll show you both if you call. I'll show you one if you fold. I think that's a pretty fair deal."

Lopes agreed with that assessment, and after another couple minutes, he folded.

True to his word, MacIntyre spread his two cards out in front of Lopes and let him pick one the {10-Hearts}. He's now got a massive chip lead after that big pot, and we'll have counts for everyone during the upcoming break.

Mac and Cheese

Fraser Macintyre is well and truly back on the right track after forcing Ricardo Iba?ez off his hand in a three-bet pot.

Macintyre opened to 125,000 from under the gun and was called by Bruno Lopes before three-bet to 325,000 from the small blind. Macintyre called but Lopez didn't have the goods to continue.

The flop came {9-Clubs}{10-Spades}{2-Clubs} and Iba?ez led for 375,000, only to face an all-in shove from Macintyre. He tanked for a few minutes and let his hand go.
