Bjarke Hansen Eliminated in 3rd Place (1,000,000 DKK)

Hansen is out in 3rd
Hansen is out in 3rd

Bjarke Hansen raised to 100,000 from the button and Team PokerStars Online Pro Mickey Petersen three-bet to 255,000. Pierre Neuville folded in the big blind and Hansen delved into his stack. You could sense that there was problem brewing and when Hansen four-bet to 550,000 it confirmed it. Petersen had the look of a man that was not going anywhere, and after a few minutes he moved all-in and Hansen called.

Petersen{Q-Clubs} {Q-Spades}
Hansen{J-Diamonds} {J-Clubs}

Petersen had Hansen covered and when the flop came down his lead increased further - {Q-Diamonds} {9-Hearts} {7-Clubs}. The {7-Hearts} on the turn confirmed that Hansen was out making the {A-Diamonds} river irrelevant, and Petersen moved into a heads up battle with Pierre Neuville - the old bull versus the young bull for the EPT Copenhagen title.

Neuville Rivers Petersen to Claim Chip Lead

Neuville on a roll
Neuville on a roll

Pierre Neuville is having some level and has just won a monster pot again Mickey Petersen to claim the chip lead.

Petersen opened with a raise to 130,000 from the small blind and the Team PokerStars Pro defended to see a {j-Clubs}{a-Clubs}{7-Clubs} flop. The Dane continued for 140,000 and Neuville called to the {j-Diamonds} turn where he faced a 210,000 bet. There was no calling at this juncture as Neuville raised to 510,000. Call.

The river was the {10-Diamonds} and Petersen checked to face a 925,000 bet. The PokerStars Team Online member looked pained but called anyway with {9-Clubs}{8-Clubs} for a flush. Neuville opened {j-Hearts}{10-Clubs} for a running full house.

That might just be a defining hand.

Pierre Neuville With 1 Million Turn Bet

Pierre Neuville has climbed into second place after tangling with Bjarke Hansen.

The Team PokerStars Pro opened to 125,000 from the small blind and Hansen made the call in the big. A flop reading {7-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{10-Diamonds} saw Neuville initially check to the Dane who took a stab at the pot with a 150,000 bet. Neuville then check-raised to 405,000 and almost exactly one-minute later Hansen called and the pot reached more than one million.

The turn was the {5-Diamonds} and now Neuville lead for exactly 1,000,000. Again, a minute later Hansen acted and he folded.

The First Three Hands of Level 27

  • Bjarke Hansen raised to 100,000 from the small blind, Mickey Petersen three-bet to 250,000 from the big blind and Hansen folded.
  • Petersen raised to 100,000 on the button and Hansen defended his big blind. The flop was {8-Hearts} {7-Spades} {2-Diamonds} and Hansen check-called a 100,000 Petersen bet. The {5-Spades} on the turn was checked through and the final card was the {8-Clubs}. Petersen bet 260,000, when checked to, and Hansen once again folded.
  • Hansen raised to 100,000 on the button and both blinds called. The flop of {K-Hearts} {Q-Spades} {J-Spades} was fancied by Neuville who bet 150,000 from the big blind and only Hansen called. The turn was the {2-Diamonds} and a pot sized 500,000 Neuville bet won him the pot and brought him neck and neck with Hansen in the chip counts.

Petersen Retakes Chip Lead Going Into The Break

The players have just gone on a 15-minute break but in the hand before they headed off for some much needed food, Mickey Petersen reclaimed the chip lead.

Petersen opened to 80,000 from the button and Bjarke Hansen three-bet to 210,000 in the big blind. Petersen called and the dealer spread out the {2-Spades}{J-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} flop. Hansen lead out with a 230,000 bet and Petersen called. There was similar action on the {4-Diamonds} turn except the bet size was a more substantial 425,000. The river was the {8-Hearts}, Hansen smirked and then checked and Petersen checked behind.

Back to Back Losses for Neuville

Level 26 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante

Luckily the two losses Pierre Neuville just suffered were a lot smaller than the two wins he had, and that's one of the keys to winning at poker.

The Belgian called an 80,000 raise from Bjarke Hansen to see a {10-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{j-Spades} flop. The action was checked to the {q-Clubs} turn and the Team PokerStars Pro check-called a 100,000 bet to see the {a-Diamonds} river. Both players checked and Hansen scooped with {q-Spades}{7-Clubs}.

The next hand Neuville raised to 85,000 and called when Mickey Petersen three-bet to 225,000 from the big blind. The flop fell {4-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{2-Spades} and a Petersen lead was enough to force a fold from Neuville.
