Jani Sointula was still looking like he was reeling from the big pot he recently lost against Ronny Kaiser when he raised from the button to 50,000. Grzegorz Cichocki was in the big blind and he defended it and the pair saw a flop of which they both checked. The turn was the and Cichocki bet 55,000 and Sointula quickly called. The river was the and for a moment Cichocki paused before betting 75,000. Sointula worked it out pretty quickly and made the call and he was good.
Ronny Kaiser and Grzegorz Cichocki have two thirds of the chips in play between them and they have both shown they are not afraid to take each other on at full speed.
In the first hand Cichocki raised to 48,000 from the button and called when Kaiser, in the big blind, three-bet to 134,000. The flop came down and both played opted to check. The fell on the turn and upon its arrival Kaiser promptly bet 140,000, which was enough to force Cichocki out of the pot.
The very next hand it folded to Kaiser in the small blind and he made it 52,000 to play in total. Cichocki mde the call and it was off to the draw heavy flop. Kaiser initially checked but quickly called when his Polish opponent bet a total of 62,000. The turn was the and now Kaiser came out betting to the tune of 80,000, a bet that Cichocki had no problems in calling. The river was the bringing in a potential diamond flush. Kaiser did not believe Cichocki had one though as he lead out with a value bet of 135,000. Cichocki obviously didn't believe Kaiser either as he called, but quickly mucked as Kaiser showed .
Jani Sointula raised to 50,000 in the cut-off and Ronny Kaiser called on the button before Raigo Aasmaa joined in the fun from the big blind.
Flop:
Aasmaa checked, Sointula bet 85,000 and then the chip leader raised to 175,000 on the button. Aasmaa folded but Sointula made a quick call.
Turn:
Sointula checked very quickly and Kaiser counted out a bet of 350,000 and pushed it across the line. Sointula, whose hand was visibly shaking at this point, made the call and we had a pot of over one million heading to the river.
River:
Sointula once again checked very quickly and after one minutes thought Kaiser verbally declared "all-in". Sointula didn't spend too long pondering his move before folding his hand.
Ronny Kaiser raised to 48,000 from the button and called Grzegorz Cichocki's 130,000 three-bet from the small blind. The flop came down and Kaiser raised his opponent's 170,000 c-bet up to 375,000. Cichocki folded and was shown the .
The next hand Kaiser raised to 48,000 and took the blinds and antes.
The hand after that saw Cichocki raised to 48,000 from UTG and Jani Sointula and Kaiser called from the blinds. Neither were interested in the flop though and check-folded to the Pole's 55,000 c-bet.
Ronny Kaiser is the first player to pass three millions chips after a blind-versus-blind battle with Jani Sointula.
Sointula open-limped in the small blind and Kaiser checked. A flop reading was initially checked by Sointula, but he quickly called as Kaiser bet 35,000. The dealer put the out on the turn and again Sointula checked, Kaiser increased his bet size to 90,000 and Sointula made the call.
The river was the and Sointula checked for a third time. Kaiser kept his foot firmly on the gas and made it 185,000 to play. Sointula smirked and mucked his hand.
We are now four-handed and Jani Sointula raised on the button making it 50,000 to play and Ronny Kaiser called in the small blind. The dealer gave us a wheel and flush induing and Kaiser check-called a 55,00 Sointula c-bet. On the turn we saw the and this time Kaiser changed his strategy and led for 90,000 and Sointula called. The final card was the and after Kaiser checked Sointula bet 185,000 which produced a sigh from Kaiser. He thought about the hand for a few minutes before eventually folding and Sointula picked up the pot.
Stuart Fox was down to his last 41,000 and in the big blind. He called all-in after Ronny Kaiser had raised to 50,000 and Jani Sointula called from the small blind.
The flop came down and both players checked. The turn was and Kaiser bet 30,000 and that was enough to force out Sointula.
Fox tabled but was drawing dead to Kaiser's . As the the inconsequential river was being dealt Fox was already wishing everyone luck.
A quick conversation with Fox's mate Billy on the rail revealed that Fox had accepted his fate in the break but they conversed at how amazing it would be if two players got involved and someone got eliminated to make him an extra 10,000. Wishes can and did come true.
Erlend Melsom has just been eliminated in sixth place after cruelly losing with ace-king against Jani Sointula's dominated ace-queen.
Melsom opened to 50,000 from under the gun and the action folded around to Sointula in the big blind. Sointula asked how many chips his opponent hand and when he was told around 400,000 he moved all in. Melsom snap-called and the cards were shown down.
Sointula:
Melsom:
The flop was very safe for Melsom and the was ever safer. The tournament director, who was announcing the action to the crowd on the rail, informed everyone that only a queen would save Sointula and low and behold the river was the sending Melsom to the rail in sixth place.
What a result this is for Stuart Fox, who down to just 50,000 chips has moved up on spot in the payouts and is guaranteed an extra 10,000!
