Jacobson Aiming High
Right in the very corner of the tournament area is one Martin Jacobson, the young Swede whose most recent score was runner up to Toby Lewis at EPT Vilamoura. Jacobson has an amazing string of results, but seems to suffer from a slight case of always-the-bridesmaid-never-th e-bride - despite claiming two EPT final tables (he finished third back at EPT Budapest in 2008), a WPT final (runner up at WPT Venice in 2009) and two WSOP finals (both in $1,500 NLH, one in 2009 and one in 2010), he has yet to get that elusive first place in a big event.
Nevertheless Jacobson is moving in the right direction in this tournament.Just now he raised to 925 under the gun and got calls from Corneliu Cretu in the cutoff and also the gentleman in the big blind to see an flop. The big blind rather unhappily open-folded and sure enough Jacobson bet 1,425 which Cretu called. But when Jacobson bet out 3,000 on the turn, Cretu gave it up, and Jacobson is well above average on almost 50,000.
