Field of Eames

Level 25 : 20,000/40,000, 4,000 ante
John Eames
John Eames

Per Linde opened to 85,000 under the gun. Everybody folded. Next hand, John Eames opened from the button. Everyone folded again. But the hand after that, Eames and his cowboys would be lassoing a massive double up!

Eames opened to 85,000 under the gun, and this time Per Linde three-bet to 250,000 from the small blind. Back to Eames, who made it 500,000 to go. Linde snap-shoved. And Eames snap-called.

You won't believe what Eames' hand was...

Eames: {k-Hearts}{k-Diamonds} again!
Linde: {a-Spades}{2-Spades}

Board: {6-Spades}{5-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}{k-Clubs}

And with that, Per Linde has lost the chip lead for the first time since Day 3 - he's at 2.167 million and is in third place. Eames is now the chip leader on 5.644 million.

Linde Gives One Up

Level 25 : 20,000/40,000, 4,000 ante

Per Linde raised on the button to 85k, and John Eames defended his big blind. The flop came down {A-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}, bringing a 90k bet from Linde. Eames called and checked the next two streets - {K-Spades} and {5-Clubs}. Linde had shut down completely and mucked when Eames showed {Q-Spades}{9-Spades}.

Iacofano Doubles Up Through Tureniec

Level 25 : 20,000/40,000, 4,000 ante

Michael Tureniec opened the button 85,000 and Kevin Iacofano reraised all-in from the big blind, the Swede instantly called and it was not good news for the American.

Tureniec: {6-Clubs} {6-Hearts}
Iacofano: {4-Diamonds} {4-Clubs}

The board came {10-Spades} {2-Hearts} {4-Spades} {K-Clubs} {8-Spades} though and PokerStars qualifier Iacofano caught his much-needed four to double up over the 2 million mark, meaning that all our players now sit with a minimum of 50 big blinds.

Nikolas Liakos Eliminated in 5th Place (DKK 750,000)

Level 25 : 20,000/40,000, 4,000 ante
Nikolas Liakos
Nikolas Liakos

Michael Tureniec raised preflop to 85,000, called on the button by Per Linde. At this point small blind Nikolas Liakos moved all in for 1.1 million chips total, which seemed to EPT Live guest commentator JP Kelly like a good idea. He might get that through a lot of the time, but not this time. Tureniec called and the cards were on their backs:

Tureniec: {7-Hearts}{7-Spades}

Liakos: {A-Spades}{8-Clubs}

The board ran out {K-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}, and the {9-Diamonds}{K-Spades} turn and river sent our fourth player to the rail in the second level of the day.

Distinct Liak of Action

Level 25 : 20,000/40,000, 4,000 ante

The newly chipped up Nikolas Liakos opened to a minimum 80,000 in early position but was dissuaded from continuing with the hand by a three-bet to 200,000 from Michael Tureniec.

Next hand, now under the gun, Liakos raised again. This time he got away with it and picked up the blinds and antes.

Liakos Doubles Through Iacofano

Level 25 : 20,000/40,000, 4,000 ante

John Eames opened to 85,000 from UTG and Per Linde made it 235,000 on the button but I doubt either was expecting Kevin Iacofano 4-betting all-in from the big blind for 1,185,000. Eames quickly folded and Linde looked nonplussed but folded also.

The next hand saw Nikalos Liakos moved all-in for 550,000 from the button and Kevin Iacofano had a decision to make from the small blind, counting out his chips, a call representing half his stack. But he made the call and Eames quickly folded in the big blind. Liakos found a great spot having turned over {A-Diamonds} {K-Diamonds} which dominated Iacofano's {K-Hearts} {J-Spades} and the board came {5-Clubs} {4-Diamonds} {10-Diamonds} {2-Spades} {2-Hearts} to secure a double up over the million mark.

Tureniec Doubles With the Eames Hand

Level 25 : 20,000/40,000, 4,000 ante
Michael Tureniec
Michael Tureniec

This time it was John Eames himself who suffered at the hands of the cowboys. A blind on blind battle started with a raise from Eames to 110k in the small - Tureniec calling in the big.

The flop brought {4-Spades}{10-Spades}{3-Diamonds} and a lead of 135k from Eames. This was called swiftly by the Swede.

The turn was the {Q-Diamonds} and now Eames bet out 275k. Tureniec pushed forward his whole stack - 1,340,000 total, and then sat inscrutably behind his pitch black sunglasses. Eames considered this, and finally threw in the call.

Tureniec: {K-Hearts}{K-Spades}
Eames: {Q-Hearts}{6-Hearts}

The river {J-Spades} was not an outdraw card and Eames lets a dangerous player back in the game.
