Gomes Tripled, Mattern Crippled
A spot of poor luck for Matthias de Meulder, a spot of very poor luck for Arnaud Mattern, and a spot of amazing fine luck for Alexandre Gomes as the three of them clashed in an all-Team PokerStars Pro three-way showdown.
Gomes raised to 2,500 under the gun and de Meulder called in the cutoff. The gent on the button called too, and Mattern called as well from the big blind, and they saw a flop.
Flop:
It checked around to de Meulder who bet 5,700. The button folded, but Mattern went all in for around 27,000. Gomes called all in for a shade less, and after a while de Meulder called as well.
"You don't have a set of jacks, do you?" asked Mattern as they turned their cards over.
De Meulder: for an overpair
Mattern: for two pair
Gomes: for that set of jacks
Gomes tripled up to around 90,000 and de Meulder dropped to 45,000. Mattern got the side pot, but it only consisted of around one big blind, which went in the next hand. Mattern couldn't find any miracles, and was gone on the very last hand of the night.
