Chippies

Here's how the three men stack up at the break:

Jan Skampa - 6,710,000
Eyal Avitan - 6,546,000
Stefan Mattsson - 4,315,000

Anthony Roux Eliminated in 4th Place (€171,000)

It folded to Eyal Avitan in the small blind, who raised to 180,000. Over to Anthony Roux in the big blind, who re-popped to 460,000. Avitan sighed, and announced all in to cover Roux. Call.

Avitan: {A-Clubs} {K-Spades}
Roux: {10-Clubs} {10-Hearts}

Flop: {K-Clubs} {A-Spades} {4-Clubs}

French railers shouted, "Ten!" "Queen-jack!" and all the other various combinations of turn and river cards that could win it for their boy.

Turn: {2-Spades}

River: {5-Clubs}

"YES! YES! YES!" shouted Avitan as Roux moved from drawing thin to busto.

We are down to our final three.

Mattsson Fails to Get Paid

Stefan Mattsson raised from the small blind and Jan Skampa called in the big. A flop ensued.

Flop: {4-Hearts} {10-Hearts} {Q-Diamonds}

Mattsson checked, and then called 240,000 from Skampa.

Turn: {9-Clubs}

Mattsson checked again, and this time called 550,000 from Skampa. Curious.

River: {10-Clubs}

Mattsson checked a third time, and this time Skampa checked behind. "You have a ten, right?" grinned Skampa. "ARGH!" said Mattsson, turning over {9-Spades} {10-Diamonds} for a full house as Skampa mucked.

Roux Rebounding

Jan Skampa made it 140,000 to play, and Anthony Roux wanted to play for more. He announced a raise, then shoved his entire stack forward. It was exactly 1,000,000 to Skampa, and he didn't waste any time making the call with his massive stack.

Showdown
Skampa: {A-Diamonds} {Q-Spades}
Roux: {J-Hearts} {J-Spades}

Roux stood from his chair to await the results of this coin flip. The flop was pretty safe as it came {10-Spades} {K-Diamonds} {6-Diamonds}. The {6-Spades} on the turn removed the two straight outs for Skampa, leaving Roux to fade the six aces and queens to double up. The {9-Hearts} landed safely on the river, and Roux gave a little fist pump as he raked in a pot worth more than 2.3 million.

Two Turn Trips

First in from the button, Anthony Roux limped for 60,000, and both blinds came along for a cheap/free flop.

It brought {J-Diamonds} {5-Spades} {K-Diamonds}. Small blind Stefan Mattsson led out with 110,000 chips, Jan Skampa folded, and Roux called. Fourth street was the {J-Spades}, and it brought the big action. Mattsson fired 270,000 more, and Roux sat statue-still. After a moment, he made a raise, Mattsson instantly moved all in, and Roux instantly called for his own tournament life.

Showdown
Roux: {J-Clubs} {10-Clubs}
Mattsson: {J-Hearts} {8-Clubs}

There were a lot of chop outs, but Roux's kicker had him in the lead with a chance to double up. He'd need only to fade an eight to stay alive. The river was rather anti-climactic; the {Q-Diamonds} gave half the pot to each player. They'll chop up the antes and Skampa's big blind and head off to the next hand.

Skampa Doubles Through Mattsson

The crowd presses in on the table as Skampa is all in
The crowd presses in on the table as Skampa is all in
Stefan Mattsson raised to 135,000 from the button, but Jan Skampa in the small blind liked his hand enough to make it 405,000 to go. Back to Mattsson, who raised to a million, which must have been fun to announce to the table. Back to Skampa, who veyr quickly announced all in, and back again to Mattsson, who called very quickly.

What huge cooler is it this time?

Mattsson: {Q-Diamonds} {Q-Spades}
Skampa: {K-Clubs} {K-Diamonds}

Board: {5-Diamonds} {7-Spades} {3-Clubs} {7-Diamonds} {A-Spades}

To cheering from the crowd that had burst through the rail to swarm the table, local boy Jan Skampa doubled up to over 9 million. Former chip monster Mattsson is left with 4 million, still not exactly a short stack.

May the Fours Be With You

Anthony Roux is back down to under 2 million after betting 230,000 to a check from Eyal Avitan on the {4-Spades} {2-Clubs} {A-Diamonds} flop. Avitan called, and once they'd checked down the {3-Spades} turn and {A-Hearts} river, Avitan's {K-Clubs} {4-Clubs} emerged victorious, Roux only able to boast {8-Diamonds} {10-Diamonds}.
