Just Two Starting Flights Remain in EAPT Madrid Main Event
Day 1d, the fourth of five starting flights for the EAPT Madrid �560 Main Event at the Casino Gran Via, is set to begin today at 1:00 p.m. local time.
So far the Main Event has attracted 98 total entrants across the first three starting flights and 15 players have advanced to Day 2. Day 1b chip leader Dario Bagattini holds the overall chip lead currently with an impressive 649,000 chips, well ahead of his nearest competitors Javier Romero (432,000) and Day 1a chip leader Luigi (413,000). Today a new group of competitors will attempt to give Bagattini a run for his money for the overall chip lead heading into Day 2.

After Day 1d, which consists of 40-minute levels, there will be one last chance to advance to Day 2 in the turbo Day 1e flight, which begins at 8:00 p.m. local time and features 20-minute levels. Players can reenter once per starting flight and late registration will be open until the end of Level 9 for both Day 1d and Day 1e. Both starting flights will end when 15% of the field remains at which point all remaining players will advance to Day 2 and be in the money.
After Day 1e the fields will combine for Day 2 on February 18 at which point all remaining players will be guaranteed at least a min-cash; however all players will undoubtedly have their sights set on the top four places. The top four players will not only receive the lion's share of the prize pool but will also each receive a �5,000 package to Cyprus for the Mediterranean Poker Party in May which includes a $2,000 entry to the EAPT Grand Final.
