Kim Spikes the River to Stay Alive
With 40,000 chips already in the pot on a flop of 7?4?10?, Avtandili Magradze had checked it over to Sergei Kim, who made a bet. Magradze then raised to 55,000 and Kim called.
A 6? dropped on the turn and Magradze shoved, which gave Kim a decision for his remaining stack of 202,000. Kim was in the tank but after around a minute, he put the chips in which left him at risk.
Sergei Kim: 8?8x
Avtandili Magradze: 10?7?
Magradze had flopped two pair and had Kim on the ropes with just one card to come. Kim needed to find an eight or a nine on the river to survive and did just that when the 9? rolled off, which improved him to a straight.
Magradze was understandably furious after that river card and thumped the table in frustration as a chunk of his stack was slid across the table.
