Pupillo Toasted

Level 6 : 250/500, 500 ante
Mansour Alipourfard
Mansour Alipourfard

In less than an hour of play since joining the tournament, Nick Pupillo found himself down to his last 2,800 and shoved from middle position. Action folded around to Mansour Alipourfard, who was in the big blind and threw in chips to call.

Nick Pupillo: {a-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}
Mansour Alipourfard: {a-Spades}{q-Clubs}

Pupillo found himself needing to hit one of the three eights in the deck to fade elimination and was unable to do so as the board ran out {k-Hearts}{3-Spades}{j-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}.

Macias Misses Flush, Backs Into Straight

Level 5 : 200/400, 400 ante

Nate Zoller opened to 1,100 from middle position and received calls from Behrouz Keshtavar on the button and Erik Macias out of the small blind. The flop came {q-Clubs}{10-Spades}{3-Spades} and action checked to Zoller, who put out a continuation-bet of 2,500.

Macias check-called another bet of 4,000 on the turn {6-Diamonds} and the river fell {5-Hearts}. Both players checked through to showdown.

Macias tabled {2-Spades}{4-Spades}.

"What is that, a straight?" said Zoller. The dealer confirmed. "Runner runner, huh? That's sick," Zoller added.

"I had a flush draw on the flop, too," said Macias. "Nice check behind."

"I know," Zoller said in response to the flush draw. "I was putting you on spades the whole way.".

"Then why didn't you bet?" Macias questioned.

"That was the perfect spot for you to bet!" Zoller answered.

"That was the perfect spot for me to check-raise!" said Macias as the dealer finished pitching the cards for the next hand and the two got back to business.

Wilkie Pushes Everybody Out

Level 5 : 200/400, 400 ante

Steve Wilkie saw action folded to him in the hijack and limped in. Jim Morrison limped behind him from the cutoff and Jon Cohen completed from the small blind. Ronnie Lamb checked his option and the four players saw a flop of {5-Spades}{6-Spades}{j-Diamonds}. Cohen was first to act and led out for 800. Lamb folded and both Wilkie and Morrison called.

With three players left, the turn came {3-Clubs} and Cohen bet another 2,000. Wilkie put in a raise to 9,000 and got folds from Morrison and Cohen to take down the pot.
