Wilkie Shows a Flush
Steve Wilkie raised to 800 in early position and received a call from the player on his left in middle position. The player on the button, small blind, and Ted Shenefelt in the big blind also called.
"Let's go," said Shenefelt as he completed the preflop action. "Pair the board!" he added.
The flop came and the small blind checked. Shenefelt led out for 1,600 and everybody but the player on the button called, taking action four ways to the turn . Both the small blind and Shenefelt then checked, and WIlkie tossed out 5,000 onto the felt. Action folded back to Shenefelt, who gestured to the dealer with a hand wave that requested a spreading of the pot. The dealer complied.
"Nice bet," Shenefelt then said, sending his cards to the muck. Wilkie showed for the turned flush and added a chunk to his stack as a result.
