“Eages” Wins Borgata Spring Poker Open Online Series High Roller ($24,375)

The 2020 Borgata Spring Poker Open Online Series $1,060 buy-in Event #17 High: $75,000 GTD High Roller attracted 67 runners, and after nearly six hours of play it was “Eages” besting “judiallin” in heads-up play to win the title for $14,175.

“Eages” actually began the heads-up match down in chips and got quite low before getting all in preflop with ten-six suited and flopping a flush. Not long after, he made kings and threes to double through “judiallin,” who had kings and deuces, and in the final hand of the tournament both players made trip queens but the ace kicker of “Eages” sealed the deal.

Among those to compete in the tournament but fall short of making the money were Daniel “centrfieldr23” Lupo, BorgataPoker.com Sponsored Pros Michael “Gags30” Gagliano and Daniel “leinad” Buzgon, Dave “Davealfa” Alfa, Kevin “sofcknsick” Campbell, Ryan “TheSims” Hohner, and Ari “spinach_kale” Engel.

After “SharingisCaring” busted in 10th place as the bubble boy, the final nine players were in the money. The first to fall was “odo23” who saw their pocket queens laid out by the quad fives of “Turkeyleg,” who proceeded to pull out to a lead.

Next to go was Jonathan “jetsfan411” Borenstein who failed to get lucky with ace-five against “judiallin’s” pocket eights, and then “NoRecourse” busted after running Big Slick suited smack dab into “Turkeyleg’s” pocket aces.

“Turkeyleg” then dispatched “Skip_2_My_Lou” when his ace-king held against queen-ten, and “Eages” followed that up by getting there with queen-eight to eliminated “TopCreature,” who go it in good with ace-five.

“Turkeyleg” then went from first to worst after a series of hands, ultimately getting unlucky with ace-eight against “Eages,” who made two pair with ace-seven. After “Whosyourdoddy” bowed out in third place, the heads-up match was set and “Eages” battled hard to close out the tournament.
