Arthur Shap Eliminated in 9th Place ($1,083)

Level 15 : 2,500/5,000, 0 ante
Arthur Shap - 9th Place
Arthur Shap - 9th Place

Arthur Shap was riding a short stack and when he looked down to see a bevy of big cards with {a-Hearts}{q-Spades}{j-Clubs}{10-Clubs} in the hole, he made his stand with a preflop shove.

Both Marc Goldsmith and Emad Alabsi called to put Shap at risk, and the flop came down {9-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{7-Spades}. Goldstein then made his own all-in wager, this one for 52,000 and Alabsi quickly called while asking "do you have aces?"

Goldsmith quickly replied in the affirmative and revealed his {a-Spades}{a-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{5-Spades} happily, and while we couldn't catch Alabsi's hand in the frenzy of four-card reveals, his query suggested he held {k-}{k-} and two other cards. Shap, for his part, was left to call for eights hoping to make complete his gutshot straight draw.

The turn ({q-Clubs}) and river ({2-Hearts}) changed nothing and Goldsmith's aces held up, eliminated Shap in the process.

Chang Flops the World, Spikes Turn

Level 15 : 2,500/5,000, 0 ante
Danny Chang
Danny Chang

The flop fell {4-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{5-Clubs} with Danny Chang a three-way pot against one opponent and Emad Alabsi. After the small blind checked, Chang fired out for 38,000 and only Alabsi called.

The turn brought the {k-Spades} to the table and Chang quickly moved all in for his last 73,000. After a minute of tanking, Alabsi asked "will you show?" and when Chang nodded in the affirmative, Alabsi's cards went into the muck.

Chang showed he was a man of his word and he revealed the {k-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}{J-Clubs} for a flopped flush draw which improved to a set of kings on fourth street.

Michael Confronts Chip Leader Alabsi

Level 15 : 2,500/5,000, 0 ante
Joseph Michael
Joseph Michael

After seeing a flop of {5-Clubs}{4-Spades}{k-Clubs} heads up against the table captain and chip leader in Emad Alabsi, Joseph Michael showed no fear.

He led into Alabsi for a pot-sized bet of 30,000 and after a quick call produced the {5-Spades} on the turn, he fired a second barrel of 50,000.

Alabsi tanked for about two minutes, saying "I know what you have" and rechecking his own cards, before finally finding the fold button.

With the final board reading {9-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}{q-Spades}{5-Clubs}{j-Diamonds} we saw Joseph Michael fire a bet of 40,000 into the middle.

His opponent agonized over his decision for upwards of two minutes, before finally announcing the call.

Michael rolled over the {7-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{a-Hearts} for a straight to the queen, as one of his many draws had come through on the river.

Alabsi Crushing

Level 14 : 2,000/4,000, 0 ante
Emad Alabsi
Emad Alabsi

Emad Alabsi just returned from a bathroom break to find that yet another short stack had gone broke.

"We're all in the money now?" he asked with a wide grin. "I leave and we make the money!"

Since then, Alabsi has been rolling over the table, taking down pot after pot to build his already massive stack.

On a recent hand he potted preflop and found two callers, before betting 26,000 on the {k-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{5-Clubs} flop. Both opponents quickly threw their hands away, and yet another pot was dragged in by Alabsi.
