Carroll Gets Some Back From Quick

Level 24 : Blinds 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante

It's been a rough level for Thomas Carroll, but he got some chips back recently in a battle of the blinds with Russell Quick.

Quick raised in the small blind to 80,000 with {10-Clubs}{9-Hearts} and was called by Carroll in the big blind with {j-Spades}{8-Spades}.

The players checked the {9-Spades}{j-Diamonds}{10-Hearts} flop, which hit both of them well.

On the {3-Spades} flop, Quick bet 125,000, but Carroll called with his added flush draw.

The river brought the {7-Clubs}, giving Carroll a straight instead and Quick checked. Carroll bet 235,000 and Quick bemoaned the river card that shriveled his flopped two pair.

Ultimately he called and saw the bad news as Carroll regained some chips as the break approached.

Carroll Bluffs With the Best Hand

Level 24 : Blinds 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante

Russell Quick limped in the small blind with {5-Clubs}{4-Diamonds} and Thomas Carroll checked his big blind with {9-Clubs}{4-Spades}.

The flop came {6-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{a-Spades} and Quick led out quickly for 50,000. Carroll called.

On the {8-Clubs} turn, Quick fired out another 85,000, which was met with a raise to 225,000 by Carroll.

With his open-ended straight draw, Quick called and the {10-Hearts} fell on the turn, bringing him no help.

Quick then checked and Carroll moved all in for Quick's remaining 545,000, which he couldn't call with his five-high.

Carroll then slammed his nine-high onto the table to celebrate what he thought was a bluff, but was actually the best hand.
