The flop was and the big blind continuation-bet 1,500. Payne matched the bet and the turn came . The big blind fired a second barrel of another 2,000 and Payne called once more.
The river fell and the big blind checked. Payne thought for a couple of seconds and then tapped the felt, checking behind to take the hand to showdown. The big blind balked for a quick second upon Payne checking behind but Payne waited for his opponent to table his hand.
The big blind showed for a missed gutshot to Broadway and Payne turned over for top pair, good to earn him the pot.
"Where the clubs at?!" joked the big blind as the pot was sent to Payne, who gave a smile and stacked his newly-won chips.
